Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Ok so this morning I turned my laptop on and the screen was all pixilated and weird. I couldn't use my mouse and so I pressed the off button. When I later tried to turn my laptop on a black screen appeared and I couldn't do anything. I turned it off and on a couple more times but still the same. Is my screen broken? Will I be able to fix this problem myself?

If you hear the computer booting up and sound, then yes, there may be a problem with the lcd. Unless you are VERY comfortable working with repairing computers I wouldn't suggest attempting a repair yourself.

use the softare diagnostic coming with the computer or get support via ONLINE chat.
However you must restart the computer HOLD the keys CTRL+f2 or f11 or f12 depend of your model, and go to restore to the factory defaulty.
God bless you

Screen won't turn on

this is going to sound kinda weird but take the RAM memory chips out, now get a #2 pencil and gently rub the eraser on the gold contac's of the RAM memory chips. be careful not to go through the gold of the contac.

you could try doing this press the FN+F7 keys both at the same time leaving a few seconds
for it to either enable or disable and if this does not work then please press it again to put back to how it was

I fell asleep watching youtube videos and when I woke up my screen was black and i couldn't power down. Usually it will go into standby and I can just turn on power and log off.

Sometimes when we have standby enabled our computers get stuck there and we cant reboot using our mouse..
If this happens you might be forced to complete a hard boot. Meaning, push your power button and hold it in until your PC turns off. Wait a few second and start it back up. Sometimes doing that you may be asked if you would like to start windows normally or in safe mode. Since your troubles were not download related, it is OK to start windows normally.
I hope this clears up your question. If not message me and I can do into greater detail for you.
Thank you and please remember to rate this feedback.

I spilt tea on my laptop Acer Aspire 5532 in and around the key board,I dried it as best I could using a hairdryer,it would not switch on all night, however in the morning I switched it on put in my use...

The fact that the computer wouldn't turn on tells me that the liquid managed to make its way to the motherboard..and when liquid touches that it isn't going to do anything nice, especially if there was power circulating through it when the liquid hit it. The best practice when liquid comes into contact with electronics is to remove all power sources and do not turn it on unless you're absolutely certain that the components are completely dry. In the case of a laptop this wouldn't be possible unless it had been taken apart. Chances are that the liquid shorted something. When you press the power button on the laptop do the fans come on along with a POST screen? The POST screen is the first screen that pops up when you turn the computer on, white text on a black background. They're all pretty unique between computers but they usually describe things such as memory/BIOS and also are often accompanied by an audible beep. If this screen does pop up, ARE there any audible beeps? If you hit the power button and nothing happens (no fans, no POST) chances are the power supply and/or the motherboard are blown and you will need to have a technician look at it.

Sorry I couldn't give you better news.

Hope this helps.

Laptop keyboard problem

check to see if the "Fn" button is stuck down, it sounds like the keystrokes you are describing are some shortcut keys to provide adjusting functions for the laptop facilities. Turn off the laptop, disconnect the power adaptor, disconnect mouse etc... and pick up the laptop and give it a gentle tap from behind the machine, and also go through all of the keys and try to press them and you may find one or more are stuck down (in particular the Fn key or similar).
