Question about Epson TX600FW Series

2 Answers

I have a paper jam error on my Epson tx600fw. There isn't a jam at this point. I took the paper out. then when i turned it back on, it still says paper jam on the screen. There is no paper stuck in machine yet every time i turn it on it says there is a paper jam, I have pulled the plug to reset . Still no go. Each time I turn it on the error returns to the screen and I can't bypass it to get to a maintenance screen. I also have found that the scanner assembly has moved to the end of the glass and will not return, the gears chatter.

    Thanks for the Manual Download.
    A quick read didn't help.
I manually moved the cartridge unit to the LH of machine so that when the M/C turned on it allowed the cartridge unit to return to the RH, and I noticed that the Paper jam error didn't come back immediately on the screen as the unit was returning. This gave me time to explore the troubleshoot side of the screen.
As I did this, the scanner mechanism moved back to its LH home position and a sheet of paper started to be feed into the M/C. The Jam paper screen returned and after repeating the above several times, the feeding sheet was visible for my to pull out.
The printer then went through it normal warm up procedure and has just printed a print cycle.
Really I didn't follow any set method...maybe the sheet that went thru cleaned a sensor!

    You tell me...jinxed or what?

    Any thoughts?

But thanks for the Manual anyway.
    Steve

Thanks for the added comment...but the printer worked for 48hrs and now has another jam.
The head returns to the default position after I slide it to the LH during power OFF.
This time I have removed the jammed sheet without tears, turned the printer on/off 10X and still have a 'jammed' fault when I turn the printer on and can't clear it.
There is so little access in this model printer!!!
I thought that printing a 'TEST' sheet may clear the fault, passing paper across any microswitches or sensors maybe effective but I can't get to try that as the jammed fault returns on power ON.
    Frustrating!!

    Hi
Having just reported the above continuing problem, I turned the printer on again for the 'umpteenth" time and pressed both the "HOME' button & ON button and held it while it initiated. This cleared the jam screen and I'm underway again until next time.
Is there a serviceman reset on this model do you know?
    Steve

Have you opened it up and had a look inside and checked if there is anything stopping the cartridge carrier/printhead from moving freely?
Open it up and allign scanner assembly to right place.
Surely there is something stuck after that jam an you had to open it to see.even tiny bits could make a difference.

Epson stylus photo px660 with a paper jam error after dismantling it displays a printer error with all lights flashing

Paper jam problems can occur due to strayed, stuck bits of papers in pathway of paper tray, outlet, roller etc. I would recommend cleaning the paper inlet, outlet, and other possible areas to avoid a paper jam situation. I have observed that most people fan the paper pile to keep them dry or non-sticky. It's a wrong method because fanning the pile of papers make them go haywire and often lead to paper jam.

The flashing lights are a "Maintenance request error" or a "Fatal error". Most of the time it is a "Maintenance request error" which means the waste ink pads need to be serviced. You can reset the waste ink counter but the ink pads will need to be serviced at some point.

you can try following points.......

1.turn off the machine for at least 5 minutes and disconnect the interface cable to the computer.

2. push and hold down the "ink" button and the "paper" button and turn the printer on.

3. When the "paper" light flashes quickly release both the buttons and then immediately press and hold down the "ink" button only for at least 10 seconds.

**You will need to try this several times to get the sequence correctly.

The error relates to a carriage movement error detected by the printer. This means the printer has detected too much power is required ti move the print head. Reason : All these Service Requests (Service Requests 00010004 , 00010005, 00010006, 00010007, 0001000A, 0001000F, 0001001D) are related to a Carriage movement error that is not automatically due to a Hardware fault. The reasons can be : - The carriage is lock not completely released. - The carriage lock has been partially pushed in after a paper jam or maintenance (for example). Reminder : The carriage lock must be released after unpacking the printer (see setup instructions) as follow : Points to check : In case such an error appears: - Power off the printer. - Ensure the Carriage lock is released (pulled to the left side) - Pushing down the cutter blade, slide the carriage to the left ? At the same time, please check if there is any foreign materials / dust / paper jam in the carriage path. If so, remove them. - Also, make sure that the carriage encoder (T-Fence) isn?t dirty and is correctly set and centered. Let me know how you get on with this info.

The Lexmark x342n all in one printer gives the error code 200.20 i took out the paper jam and tried to print again but it still gives the same fault i also can the drum and tried again but it only...

General tip: If the paper tears when you pull a jam out of the printer, spread the paper out and make sure you have all of the pieces. A small shred left inside can cause another jam.

"I also can the drum" - does this mean you discarded the printer cartridge? I've never seen a cartridge cause a jam. Usually an accordion-fold jam in this area is the result of the fuser rollers not turning or a torn fuser sleeve. A jam without an accordion fold indicates that the paper did not make it into the toner deposition area soon enough - this could be a problem with the pickup roller or the next set of rollers. Worn or dirty rollers can work intermittently before they quit completely.

Also, check the paper detection flag to make sure it isn't hanging up (this is a black plastic tab that sticks into the paper path just before the paper goes under the cartridge, and is pushed up or down by the paper). Look for the U-shaped optical detector that is interrupted by this flag, and make sure it isn't blocked by foreign material.

The printer needs to be reset. First try unplugging it to see if it resets. If not you will have to look at the manual and go into maintenance properties to reset it.

Epson NX415 Paper jam. I took paper out but it's

Check for other bits of ripped off paper stuck in your machine.
Try turning off your printer for 30 secs and turn it back on.

I have a epson artisan 800 I'm tring to fax from the automatic feeder but it keeps making a grinding sound and then it says paper jam but paper never even went through

I took apart my artison 800 with 'paper jam' error and grinding noise. Sadly enough, it is the plastic gear attached to the stepper motor which is slipping and making the grinding noise. I tried to glue it and it worked once or twice and failed again. It is a design flaw and Epson should repair this for free if they are honest about this problem. Ir is not a user-caused problem.
