In changing the display settings did you change the resolution? If not, then set the resolution to a lower setting, apply, then set it back to where it was. If you've done this, then uninstall the video drivers from the device manager, and reboot. This will fix any driver glitch that may be causing it. At this point, if the problem persists, connect an external monitor and ty adjusting the resolution on it. If you cannot adjust it on the external then the video car has malfunctioned, if you can, then check Acer's support site for any updated video drivers, or patches for the current.

I would like to display the date also at the right bottom corner of my computer. The time is already displayed there.

Which operating system do you have ?
The Window's taskbar organizes open and running programs, provides a quick way to access application shortcuts, and gives easy to access to important computer functions and utilities via the system tray. Most users of Windows center their workflow around the Window's task bar for its convenience and ease of use. With the clock function automatically enabled, users can add the date to their task bar while increasing the space for more application shortcuts.

Add The Date To The Taskbar In Windows XP/Vista Right-click on your Window's taskbar and click "Lock the taskbar" option to remove the check mark next to it and unlock your taskbar. If there is no check mark next to it, do not click it as your taskbar is already unlocked. Move your cursor to the top edge of the Start menu and wait for it to change into a double arrow. Click and hold the left mouse button and drag your mouse upwards until the taskbar physically changes in . When it does, it will add the day and the date under the time. Add The Date To The Taskbar In Windows 7 Right-click on the Window's taskbar and select "Properties" from the resulting menu. Click the check box next to "Use Small Icons" to disable the option. The icons will get slightly larger and the date will appear under the time. Click "Apply" followed by "Ok" to save your changes and exit the window.

Try a all and see which you like better 1024x 768 is a good area the lower yo go the bigger it gets the higher them smaller. Then hit yes to keep the one you want apply and ok if it asks.

How do I adjust my monitor? My home page does not

I'm not sure what operating system you're using nor what you mean by your "home page". If you mean your browser window doesn't fill the whole Windows desktop, what happens when you maximize the window?

If your desktop looks huge with tiny icons (and tiny-looking windows, if you have any open and not maximized) all clustered in the middle of the screen, your display resolution may be set higher than you're accustomed to. In most versions of Windows you can go to Control Panel | Display, see what your current resolution is, and try adjusting it. The higher the numbers, the "bigger" the desktop area (and the smaller the icons and everything else). If you adjust the resolution higher than your monitor can handle, you may lose your display and have to restart the computer in something like Safe mode to get to Control Panel and readjust it. If you adjust the resolution lower (or run in Safe Mode) your icons may not fit on the smaller desktop and may get scrambled. In that case, first straighten out the display resolution, then move your icons back where you want them.
