I will start to search for the culprit (SIM or phone).
Try to change the SIM card in your phone. Just take out your SIM and insert another one, have another one borrowed.
If the problem is gone than probably it is the SIM (dirty contacts, chip malfunctioning, bad network access). Call your mobile company and ask for a replacement.
If the other SIM has the same problem then it is probably the phone. Try to turn off the device or, better, try to apply a soft reset.
If the reset does not solve the problem contact device assistance and explain the defect and the test you have already run.
If you are using a handfree set try another one.

Cannot hear callers voice during a call but caller hears mine

if you cant hear caller voice. do one thing go to gallery and go to voice recorder and record some voice then save that then go to media and play recorded sound if its working means your loud speaker is working but not ear peic means (ear speaker) not working. so then you need to change ear speaker.you can do your self just watch video on online.

Record Your Announcement
Before using this answering system, you
should record the announcement (up to
three minutes long) that callers will hear
when the system answers a call. If you
choose not to record an announcement,
the system answers with a pre-recorded
announcement: “HELLO. PLEASE LEAVE A
MESSAGE AFTER THE TONE.”
1 Press and hold a. When the
system beeps, speak toward the
microphone normally, from about nine
inches away. While you are recording,
the Message Window blinks .
To stop recording, release a.
The system automatically plays back
your announcement.
To review your announcement, press
and release a.
To erase your announcement and
return to the pre-recorded announcement,
press Dwhile your announcement is
playing.
Callers can skip the announcement by
pressing #.

Callers say they cannot hear me

Yes it very well could be your phone lines and not the system. Call your provider and tell them you have low speech path on your lines. They will troublshoot it.

Make sure that you are speaking clearly, No joke, but more answers could be notified by your land line seller, they should tell you exactly how to fix it, or provide you with a new one.

All calls go directly to fax. Calls don't go to answering machine. I can't answer calls manually to speak with caller.

You seem to have chosen the correct answering mode which is ans/fax.Also pls check whether DRPD mode is correctly set .
It should be off in case your tel line does not have dual ring feature.

happy faxing

Phone rings but when answered the caller can not be heard.

Your ear speaker is bad. You may need to replace it.. This one made by HTC. You can check on Ebay for replacement part. Other issue could be is the hardware part of the ear speaker may be broken or defected will cause loosing contact with the main circuit or you can say it is short. Only solution is open the phone and check for that area to see for any defective.
