Channels Hi there, Everything works fine on my vcr, but I can't seem to get any channel higher than 19. I would like to tape something on a higher channel and I have fiddled with every button. Help?

The chances of me deleting the channels are fairly good. How do I get them back? The menu button only gives me the screen to chose English/French/Spanish and even with that screen I can't change the settings...it's bizzare. I have made sure that my tv is set to be able to recieve cable channels, not uhf/vhf...I really am lost.

Lets try someting 1st.take your VCR off any cable connections & if you can place an antenna in the antenna input.[note:: if you don't have a antenna use a 15" to 25 " (inch) wire ,striped at the tip to connect in the center of the VCR-R\F input] see if u can " scan " for channels.by using the R/C MENU. If not change the cnannels with the R/C and the chennel up\down on the machine.

Sometimes the RC [remote control] has a MENU button that you can "bypass" any channel.Did you use the RC and 'delete' the channels by mistake?

Change TV viewing channel to 3 or 4. If this works your VCR's output channel got changed during storm. If this is the case, review previous answers to prblems with this VCR.

Sharp VCR hooked up to cable tv, i/p to vcr then out to tv.

I believe that I have the solution to that problem... When you are hooked up to cable or dish and use a VCR, you MUST have the program you wish to tape playing on the Cable or dish program, therefore the VCR needs to be tuned to channel 3 or 4 {whichever is the unused channel in your area) I believe that all you have to do is make sure that the TV is tuned to the channel you wish to tape and program the VCR to Channel 3 (at my area) or channel 4.

I hope this works for you. I have VCRs hooked up to all my sets and this is how mine work.

Hey there, Here are some ideas; I would clean it one more time to make sure that its nice and clean try playing a different tape on your VCR and check the channel on your VCR, and thats if you are using a channel 3 or 4 on your VCR, concur with each other. Meaning if you have Channel 3 on your TV you should have Channel 3 on your VCR. Thats a really old method. If you use a coxial cable unplug it and replug it in again sometimes there is no contact at one of the ends therefore disconnecting or connecting it again would help. Just see if that works and usually that was the problem when i use to have problems with my VCR. Let me know if that works out for you alright.

Sanyo VCR - further info required

Hi, as stated on other post, VCR cannot be programmed storing sat channels in memory, you can get only a unique sat input channel on VCR.
You can only record from the channel that is currently been received on Sat, you can even use VCR timer, but you cannot store Sat channels into VCR.
all you do is connecting the sat box output to VCR, and VCR will see the SAT box as input, or line 1, or AV1, or external, or something similar, depending on the model.
You cannot program VCR on sat channel, you will need to leave sat box on the channel you want to record, it will be the same on a DVD RW.

Sharp vcr problem

The way to connect them is as follows:
1. Connect the cable from the wall to the cable input on the cable box.
2. Connect the cable box RF output to VCR RF input (VCR must be on channel 3).
3. Connect the RF output from the VCR to the RF input on your TV (TV must be on channel 3).
After all the connections are done, leave the VCR and TV on channel 3 and use the cable box to select the channel you want to record programs from.
Good Luck.

VCR/Cable TV Connection

I guess you are using the cable TV feed looped through the VCR to the TV set.

Make sure you did not confuse the in and out loop of the VCR.

In the VCR menu, or on the remote there is usually a button called TV/VCR (Video). Make sure it is in the TV mode to watch the cable. In the VCR (Video) mode, the TV must be on the VCR's designated channel to watch the VCR, and the VCR tuner is used to watch the cable channels.

Can not tape from cable, blue screen

If you have a cable box connected now, leave the VCR on channel 3 all the time and use the channels from the cable box.
The way this should be connected is cable in to cable box and cable out to VCR, VCR output to TV IN.
Hope this works for you.

Not enough channels

The history of broadcasting is one of adding more and more channels. The older the VCR, the less cable channels it will get.
