You could try the potato trick. Take a small to medium potato. Cut off an end of the potato. Press the cut end into the broken lightbulb and unscrew the rest of the bulb out.

When the base adhesive dries out the glass bulb can separate from the base. What I usually do is to get a needle nose pliers and put one of the points directly under the edge of the base and bend it so that you can put the tips of the pliers onto more of the surface of the base and simply turn it out of the socket. Needless to say make sure that the unit in unplugged before you attempt this. This usually works quite well for me. Good luck, Marty
