Hello, welcome to FixYa.

The E4 error on your dishwasher indicates an overfill has occurred. This can potentially occur due to excessive detergent (accumulitive over time) or mineral deposit in the filters and sump as well.

**Your dishwasher has an overfill protection device which could automatically shut off the inlet valve and starts the drain pump if the water overflows and subsequently display the error. If this occurs, turn off the main water supply before calling a qualified service agent. If there is water in the base pan because of an overfill or small leak, the water should be removed before restarting the dishwasher. This can be done by way of tilting it back (while unplugged of course) and allowing the water to drain from the base**

NOTE: Hard Water conditions will adversely affect wash ability performance of your dishwasher. Hard Water conditions will also contribute to "Lime" (white film substance deposits and/or "Scaling" on the stainless steel surface of the dishwasher tub and "Heater Element" located in the sump underneath the removable filter screen. To assist in minimizing these conditions, it is recommended to periodically operate/rinse the inside of the dishwasher (empty) using 1 cup of white vinegar (at least once a week).

Let me know how this works for you and I'll try to assist you further if necessary. Good luck and thank you for choosing FixYa.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

Many owners manual list common error codes. I would check there first. If that doesn't work try repairclinic.com and access trouble shooting DIY help by model number for model specific information. Good luck.

Kdw4ttsl dishwasher err 1 comes on the screen can u help

It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors or feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET/PUMP MOTOR/DRAIN to work when it is commanded .If this does not happen then the voltage at these points must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage/drive from the controller. This means the controller is a suspect.

Check how to remove the control panel: http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/dishwashers/a/3/1287/how-to-replace-a-hotpoint-dishwasher-fascia-p.html

If the water flows then the flow should be good, if not the inlet valve is bad or there is dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at the inlet of the water line. What is most important for the motor to start functioning is that the door switch must be ON when the door is shut or this will be an error for starting the motor. The water pressure must be good and the spraying must be seen to be good. If there is low pumping or pressure then the spray arms will not turn around to inject with pressure. If so the pump must be checked for clogging.

LG 1419LF My dishwasher stops during its cycle, it shows an error message: OE, there is 2 inches of water at the bottom of machine...Please help...

Hi

OE in your dishwasher is a drain error and dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. First make sure that the drain is not clogged and remove clogs if present. If no visible lint is present then remove the lower front access panel to check the drain filter and drain pump for any clogs, you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump completely. Also, check for any food pieces stuck near the pump impeller & clean the chopper assembly. If the issue returns after cleaning then the drain pump assembly should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

I want to know where to put my dishwasher tablet in my Kenwood KDW4TTSL please. And where does the salt go and how much do I use?

Im presuming that you don't have a manual. If you would like one, you can download a free PDF from here:
http://dl.owneriq.net/4/4e71b4c9-e100-4066-a29e-9c46abc1f5cf.pdf

According to the manual:

There is a recess on the right hand side of the door for detergent (Picture on page 6 of the manual). You can put a tablet in here.

With regard to salt (Also on page 6):

1. Unscrew the cap from the salt container

anticlockwise, which is located on the right side of the

inner box.

2. Load the salt into the container. Each time you may load 250g of salt, which can be used for 15

cycles.

3. Fill the water into the salt container until a small amount of water comes out(it is very important

when you use it for the first time).

4. Screw the cap back carefully.

Note:

1. Load the salt before the beginning of wash cycle so as to prevent corrosion.

2. Load the salt when the salt indicator light in the control panel is illuminated.

3. Only use dishwasher salt.

Keeps stopping and showing OE

Hi tpearsgolf,

The "OE" error code you are seeing, means "Outlet Error"

The drain pump is either clogged, or the outlet hose has been kinked.
- Inspect the Drainage hose at the back for kinks. - If any, straighten the hose
- Open the unit, and at the bottom sump check the small drain pump area for any foreign object that may be obstructing it. You can remove the filter, as well as the metalish sieve underneath it, check the sump underneath near the drainage holes, make sure nothing is obstructing the flow out of the machine from there.

If not successful, you will need to replace the Drain Pump.

Kind Regards :-)

If you found this solution helpful, please rate it.

Hi, We have a fairly new ADP600IX dishwasher. It has stopped mid cycle and is flashing up ERR 4 What does this mean? Many thanks

Error 4 means dishwasher has overfilled with water and is not draining out. This has happened to me twice and I have found turning the dishwasher offf at the powerpoint for at least a week seems to fix the problem.Keep your filter in the bottom of the dishwasher clean.

Will not drain and shows E6 error code

I had this problem and eventually found a small piece of mussel shell in the bottom part of the machine, it seems they are very sensitive to the tiniest fragment of debris.
