UNPLUG tool, remove the throat plate (piece that goes around blade) there are 2 wrenches that were supplied with the tool when new. One fits on the flats on the spindle and the other fits on the hex nut, what I generally do is brace the spindle wrench on the table of the tool and then with the hex wrench pull to loosen. You might have to TAP it with a small hammer to loosen, WEAR gloves when doing this to save scrapes on the hands. Let me know if you need more assistance.

How to remove stuck blade bolt on MTD Mower model 449

Jeff:

First make sure that you are loosening the blade bolt (Are you turning it in the right direction?) Turn the mower on it's side and lodge a piece of wood between the blade and the body of the machine and really crank on that wrench. The blade bolt is probably rusted in the crankshaft.

Gas pedal is very hard to push down and car turns off sometimes while driving. I've had this car for a year and it's never done this. What could be causing it?

A warped throttle blade could cause this or a binding throttle cable or linkage, you must have to figure out which one.

Friends can comment on my status messages. but when i view my status mesage, i can't read their comments anymore. Even my own comment can't be viewed.

This is a problem with Facebook. Because they have so many users updating a lot of things, the system can fall behind sometimes and lose comments or entire status updates. I've even had events go missing occasionally.

Give it a while (it ranges from a few minutes to a few hours) and the updates should start appearing again. Once i went a week without being able to update my status or change my profile picture, so please be patient, there is nothing you can do to resolve the problem yourself.

You should be able to read the comments etc in your emails however.

Thanks

Can't see how to remove blade guard on older craftsman 10" radial arm saw to change blades also right or left thread??

The saw I own has a thumbscrew-like shaft protruding from the area where the blade guard rests over arbor of the saw, and you simply turn that thumbscrew to loosen the clamp that holds guard on the end of the motor housing, then lift the guard up and over the blade. (After unplugging, of course.)
I don't remember which way it's threaded, but it should be pretty apparant after you take the guard off, as you can see the threads sticking out about 3/4" beyond the lock nut. This allows for the use of dado sets, etc. on the radial arm saw.
By the way, you might be able to find a manual for your saw, if you can find the model number stamped on the plate, by looking at this site.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.

Just wanted a copy of the manual for Delta DJ-15 and to be specific the section about changing blades. Lost my manual somewhere and have only changed blades once. I have the magna planer setup for it and...

You can download the online manual from this link. You may also wish to do a google search on "jointer tune up" and you're sure to turn up some helpful articles, some of which will directly apply to your machine. There are a lot of delta jointers out there.
Just make sure you carefully tighten the lock bolts/nuts across the blade in a non-linear order, to spread the load across the cutterhead evenly, and change only one blade at a time, rather than removing all three and then inserting three sharp knives. In this way, you maintain proper tension across the cutterhead at all times.
If you used a magna set and didn't score a line on the fence to locate the magnaset at the peak position of the knives' arc around the cutterhead, then you may wish to do this first with a fine point marker. That way you'll ensure that the magnaset is in the same position when you adjust each knife as it was for the others. I sometimes use a 12" straightedge laying on edge along the outfeed table to double check the height of the knives, as the magnaset alone seems to have a bit of play in it and I can feel the roll of the knife edge against the underside of my rule to indicate the perfect height, too much or not enough and make corresponding adjustments. But I do use the magnaset to hold everything in place while I tighten the screws down.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.

How do I change the blade on a Bosch 1582 vs?

There is a round hole in the center of the front handle that allows you to use a long narrow flat head screwdriver to loosen the slotted screw that locks the blade in place. Then you can turn the blade 90 degrees and remove it, replace it, and reverse the process. You need the right kind of screwdriver, one with a blade about 3/16" wide and a quite long stem before the handle, so you can reach the screw.

I am having trouble installing the blade on my 1587vs jigsaw.

Please consult the online manual for your saw here, and review this article about changing the blade.
All I can say is, You're not the only one, Thank God they finally changed the design of the blade change mechanism, How could it have taken that long for a bunch of German engineers to figure that one out, and you have my sympathy for owning one of those that use neither a screwdriver nor the new quick release mechanism.
Realise to begin with that the blade goes in and slips out in a position about 45 - 90 degrees away from the position it's in when cutting. In other words, the teeth must be turned somewhat to the side of the saw to allow the blade to slip free. Before that can happen, however, you must use that ridiculous handle mechanism to loosen the lock screw that holds the blade in place. First set the orbital selection switch to III or max orbit position. This will give you a little more flex when pulling the blade free. You might also pull the blade out to a more downward position if it's up inside the saw quite a bit. Pull up on the handle as shown in the instructions and rotate counterclockwise (looking down at the top of the saw) to loosen the blade, being careful not to pull up on the handle too much when it is exactly 180 degrees from the home position, or it will come off in your hand. That is the position to reinsert it in when it comes off, then turn it a little to the side to pull up again. I don't have much use for the push upward and pull downwards advice they give, regarding the tabs on the blade itself. It seems to me they could have figured out a way to keep the handle on the saw while you pull up on it to loosen and tighten the blade in place, but I guess with patience you can get it back in and tightened up again.turning what should be a thirty second blade change into a frustrating ordeal. The older model used a special long shank flat head screwdrive, which worked fine, but everyone would lose the screwdriver or forget to bring it to the jobsite, and without it you couldn't change the blade in that one either. Once you get the blade in they work great!
Anyway, know you're not alone when you curse Bosch, and someday you can replace that little pain for an upgraded model that has a 3 point support mechanism and much better blade change mechanism, or you could go all out and buy a Festo jigsaw, that you would love for the rest of your days...
Sorry for the rant. I hope that helps. I see that you wrote about a month ago, so hopefully you managed to cut your wood by now.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.

Where can I get a Craftsmen 9-2664 bandsaw blade?

Quote efs_perpends
You'll need to find out the length of the blade in inches. If you have an old broken one, you can simply measure it. Then if you search online, you'll find a variety of sources that will weld/braze a custom length blade for you. (link here)
Otherwise, you might find a manual here. that gives the standard length for that machine.

My RCA RTD317 has problems recognizing most DVD movie disks. It will play some disks most of the time and all audio disks, so I figure the lasers are working. What could be the problem?

If you've tried cleaning the Laser with a Lens Cleaner Disk or directly with Lens Cleaner Fluid and a QTip without any improvement then the Laser is Failing.

It takes less power to read some DVDs than others and a lot less power to read an Audio CD. The Laser will continue to deteriorate until it won't play anything.

I have a 1587 AVS, changing the blade, I turn the blade into the proper cutting position and turn the nob but the blade will not tighten.

You have to pull up on the knob while you tighten it, without pulling it off the saw. A bit tricky.
Also helps if you gently pull out on the blade a bit as you tighten. See this rant of mine on the same topic, which includes a link to the online manual.
Best of luck.
