This error code most likely means that the print head is dirty and needs cleaning. You will need to remove the ink cartridge and clean the print head with an alcohol pad. This link may help you with removing the ink cartridge.

I have an Canon MP 830 with error 5200. What can I do to fix it myself?

The error 5200 is either print head overheated or the logic board is faulty.

If it overheated, there might be burn marks on it somewhere or some distortion due to excessive heat.

Canon pixma 830 code error 5200

This is a print head problem. The MP830 seems to get them quite often - possibly made worse by using generic inks. Try removing the print head (instructions are in the quick setup guide) and cleaning with alcohol. Isopropyl alcohol may be better than ethyl alcohol if you can find it. You may have to leave the head soaking overnight. Make sure it is completely dry before reassembling. Good luck!

Returning an error 5200 on my canon MP830 printer

I have an MP830 on my desk I use all the time. Whenever I use generic cartridges I get the 5200 error and the A600 error. This seems to be caused because the generic cartridges ooze a little ink. The ink falls down into the excess ink pad (as it should) but it also provides a minute amount of resistance when the print head first starts to move which generates the errors. What I do once a week is take out all the print cartridges and clean off their bases. Then I take out the print cartridge holder and clean that. Then I move the print mechanism to the left side. I take a folder piece of paper towel that I put a little glass cleaner on and I run that over the excess print well on the right side of the print head travel or where the print head normally sits. Of course I do this with the printer off. So far it's worked every time. When I first bought the printer and I got the error message I called Canon and this is what they told me also. Since I've been troubleshooting electronics for 40 years I wasn't pleased with that response so I began some troubleshooting on my own. his is what I came up with. I hope this helps. Good luck

Error 5200 on start up of Cannon MP830 printer

Error 5200 on the MP830 is for a printhead temperature warning. The Canon service manual suggests two causes of action. Firstly replace the printhead or secondly the logic board. Printhead can be replaced at a cost (Part number QY6-0061-010 about £50) but if you know someone with the same model try their printhead first because it might be the logic board.

Service error 6A00 in my canon ip 5200 printer. what should i do

Error 6A00
The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam.

Solution 1:
Move the printhead carriage back and forth a few times.

Solution 2:
Check the purge unit: Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like.

Solution 3:
Press the ink pads down in the purge unit.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Canon mp 830 getting error 5000

Canon site if the link does not work just go to -> support-> select Multifinction --> Inkjet --> Pixma MP830

Then type in - error code 5000 - (Leave off the " - "
Select #3 - ERROR LCD: Error code (5xxx through 9xxx) appears on the display -

1. Press ON/OFF switch to reset the multifunction device
2. Press Stop/Reset and ON/OFF to reset the printer
3. Removing paper jams MP800R / MP830 / MP530
4. The MP830 may require repair
5. Unlock the scanner lock switch (MP800R / MP830)

The links above detail each instruction. If they do not work here then got directly to the Canon Site.

Basically at one point there was a paper jam so clear it and then reset the machine.
Worked for me. Good luck to you :)

My canon mp830

Error code 5200 means the print head temperature is too high. The only was to resolve this error is either replace the print head or replace the logic board. The print head is available, part number QY6-0061 but you will struggle to find a logic board. The only other thing you can try is resetting the EEPROM on the logic board, this sometimes clears the error. A service manual will show you how to do this:
