Question about Kitchen Ranges

1 Answer

I have an EBAC D-850 dehumidifier that I removed the plastic casing from in order to clear a blockage. Now the casing won't slide back down all the way.

When you removed the casing, it most likely had a hose attached to it to a drain.
Check to see if the hose is laying in the way of the casing.
If this is not it, then there must be another abstruction laying in the way.
Disconnect the dehumidifier from the electrical outlet, before you go
inside to take a look. It has to be something that was there to let you know
that it was full of water or empty.

MY FRIDGE IS LEAKING WATER FROM THE BACK. EVERYTHING ELSE IS STILL WORKING

I'm presuming that this is a self defrosting fridge. When it defrosts, the water runs down the back of the fridge inside and collects in a gully, just above the vegetable drawers (If you have them), it runs through a hole in the centre of the gully, down a pipe to a plate which is positioned above the compressor at the back. The compressor gets warm and the water evaporates.
The hole in the gully is probably blocked with debris or mould, as a result, the water overflows onto and into the drawers. MOST fridges have a dip stick like device in the hole, which you can use to jiggle up and down and clear any blockage. If you don't have such a dipstick, a soft wire or bit of plastic tie will do to clear the pipe. Worst case, you may have to pull the fridge away from the wall and check at the back. The compressor, plate and drain hose (about the thickness of a pencil and usually clear plastic) should be clearly visible. Sometimes, the hose gets dislodged so it doesn't drip onto the plate, sometimes the blockage will be at the end of the hose that runs out onto the plate, rather than inside the fridge. You can try blowing into the hose, which should be free and clear to blow through, or pushing a soft flexible wire down the entire length of the pipe to clear any blockages in places you can't see.

I cannot get the plastic shell back on the unit after removing to clear blockage in water drain/pan. Repeatedly hangs up, will not slide down last 1.5 to 2" to line up screw holes. Please advise...

  • Make sure the drain pan is in all the way.
  • The plastic housing gives many people trouble when reassembling. It has to be put on just so. Make sure you are clearing everything when sliding it back on.
  • This housing has to be fiddled with when reassembling a bit. It will go back on.
