Question about Stanley Black & Decker Stanley Bc1509 15 Amp Battery Charger Sta-bc1509

Open Question

I have a new stanley 15 amp automatic battery charger. i have hooked it to a small 12 amp ATV battery and plugged in. It is emitting a constant beeping sound. Is this normal? The box did not contain any instructions; so, I assume that you just hook it up and go....correct?

Okay, I'm working on a scooter for my nephew that originally came with (2) 12 volt 12Ah batteries minus the charger. and I know I need to replace them with (2) batteries of the same 12 volts and lets

not exact, to charge apropiate needs 10% more than nominal voltage. if not, will not charge the batteries.
And the charger its very important because you can over charge the battery. An example,if you have a 12 Amps Batteries each one if you put it in series will be 24 Volts.at parallel conection will be 12 volts but the double of Amps.
At serial connection will be 12 Volts the amps will be the same but the volts will be 24.

The charger at 12 Volts must be 13.8-14.5 DC Volts and divide the Amps in Hours.
The charger at 24 Volts must be 26-28 Volts. to charge well.

The charger for 12 amps batt example must charge 2 amps per hour at 6 hours = 12 Amps.(2 Amps Charger by 6 Hours Charging= 12 Amps.(Fully Charged.
3 Amperes Charger needs 4 Hours to charge 12 amps Batt.
5 Amperes Charger needs 2 Hours charging an a quarter
All of this is at DC Current.

Luck.

How do you charge battery

A motorcycle battery should be charged with a small charger, 6 amps at most. Take the time to be sure your battery connections are clean, tight and in good shape. When charging any battery hydrogen gas is emitted, do it in a ventilated area with no open flame. Hook the negative clamp (black) of the charger to the negative (-) post of the battery, positive clamp (red) to the positive of the battery (+); plug charger in. Chargers may have a gauge that shows battery charged when needle is almost to 0. I prefer to spend a couple extra bucks and have a charger with automatic shut off to avoid over charging

Just want to know what the code FLO stands for kid lost the manual

The digital display shows "FLO" to indicate that the unit is in float charge mode. The battery "fully charged" icon will display on the LCD screen and the arrows pointing to the "+" and "-" will flash. In this mode, the unit monitors the battery voltage and charges as necessary to assure the battery maintains full capacity. The unit remains in float charge mode as long as the charger is connected to the battery and plugged into a functioning AC outlet. I hope this has answered your question.

We have no instructions for our charger can you please tell me how to use it?

your car battery has two connections called posts. one is negative and one is positive +. the red clamp from your charger goes to the positive terminal on the battery. the black clamp is supposed to go to ground, like an unpainted bolt but not brake lines or any kind of tube. It can be hooked to the negative or black battery connection as well. just make sure there is plenty of airflow around the battery and you should be fine. I usually do it that way and have never had a problem.. finally set your charger for 10 amps on a 12 volt battery and plug it in.

I really don't have any idea as to what you're talking about here other than a battery and maybe a charger. Seems as if you're saying that you have a 12 volt 1.5 amp automatic battery charger connected to a 12 volt, 8.5amph battery but the red light on your charger is blinking. The blinking red light indicates that the charger is not seeing a proper connection such as crossed polarity connection or simply a poor connection. You say that the battery voltage has dropped from 12.5 volts to 9.1 volts with the charger connected. If this is the case, the battery is badly discharged and the charger is not charging the battery for some reason. The charger may be bad but check the connections to make certain they are correct and good. If they are, I'd replace the charger.

Good luck
Steve
