It will not enter the menu option. Remote control turns power on and off, but nothing happens when you click menu.

If so, the power supply section inside is faulty. There is a power switching regulor board inside your dvr to which external main power is given. Out of it several low DC voltage comes out and goes to different circuit boards. From your explanation, the 5VDC section which is integrted with 9VDC, is missing. Therefore, no voltage will be given to its main system control, memory and front panel switches and infrared sensor at its fromt panel which senses the infrared rays from the remote. That is why your set in inert to front panel controls and remote handset. In fact it is partially dead. It is very difficult to troubleshoot the power switching section, usually known as [SMPS]. Most of it components are critical and difficult to get from open market. So I advice you to replace as card basis. You can get it from Samsung Authorised Service center at your town. Never install a duplicate board to this place, as it may damage more components, and more money have to be spend to get it repaired after. Insist on original one. There will be a number printed on the circuit board, and is the reference. The board can be easly located as external mains power goes directly to it. OK.

I need philips universal 4 digit remote codes

Not sure I can help. You might do well to call Samsung 800-SAMSUNG. But I have the codes that should work if you were hooking the Samsung to a Philips set top box or cable box. Perhaps they are the same? (And how lucky are you that you landed this jewel! I love this unit!

Remote stopped functioning for dvd\vcr unit

When the remote control won't operate the DVD player recorder, check the batteries. Try replacing them and see if the remote works. If the batteries are fine, the code on the remote and the code on the DVD player recorder might not be the same. When aiming the remote at the unit a number will be displayed. To set the remote to the same number, which will be 1, 2, or 3, press down OK on the remote as the appropriate number at same time.
God bless you

Can't switch from AV2 to AV1 with Samsung DVD-VR375 DVD Recorder / VCR Combo

To be able to select AV1, you have to first go into the setup menu and set the control set top box setting to OFF. I think you go to the menu >> setup >> features >> set top box control >> select OFF. Note that this has the side effect of erasing any previously stored timer settings.
