Question about Texas Instruments TI-30XA Calculator

Open Question

The arrow keys on my TI-30X don't work anymore. All of the other buttons work but when I press any of the arrows, nothing happens. I reset the calculator using the reset button in the back but it didn't work. Is it time to get a new calculator or can I fix this?

Okay, I tried all these things, but what finally worked for me was holding the down arrow and tapping the 2nd button.

SOURCE: TI-85 Calculator's LCD Display if faded

I did a little research on the Texas Instruments Website  and here is the answer.
Adjust the contrast by pressing and releasing the [2nd] key followed by pressing and releasing the up arrow; repeat as necessary. To adjust or lighten the display, use the down arrow.

SOURCE: I just bought a texas instruments TI-30X IIS

if you want to use your calc for this you would have to put it in as the operations to change the mixed to improper fraction i.e. input exactly as "((8*3)+6)*((3*7)+1)="  remember?  take denominator times whole number plus numerator and put over denominator to convert from mixed to improper... hope this helps

Doesn't start anymore

TI calculators have an annoying habit of dimming the screen when the batteries are changed so that it appears as if the calculator isn't turning on. Turn the calculator on (or at least press the ON key). Press and release the 2ND key. Press and hold the Up-arrow key for a few seconds and see whether the screen becomes legible. If this doesn't do it please reply to this post and we'll go on from there.

If that doesn't do it, this step will clear all RAM. Press and hold the 2ND, left-arrow, and right-arrow, then press the ON key.

If that doesn't do it, this step will clear all RAM and Flash memory. Remove one of the four AAA batteries. Press and hold the (-) and ) keys while replacing the battery. Continue holding the (-) and ) keys for five seconds before releasing.
