Replace the power supply if you have a spare one or pull out the memory then put it back again if still not working check the vga cable if place properly.

Try this:
1-Turn it off and unplug it.
2-Open the case and locate the RAM memory.
3-Take them off and put them on the other empty RAM sockets if there are any, otherwise put them back where they were. But take them out anyway, even if you then put them in the same socket.
4-Close the case, plug it in and turn it on.

If this doesn't work then, unfortunately, it's probably a problem with your motherboard and you have to buy a new one.

Turn ON not working properly

Sometimes the PSU doesn't wake up properly. I would suggest testing the PSU and looking for blown capacitors on the motherboard. They should be dished or flat and clean. If they are domed or have a gritty substance on them they need replacing or the motherboard will need to be replaced. A PSU tester will only cost about 5GBP or equivalent.

My Acer Aspire 5551-2036 wont turn on blue light turns on screen remains black

Does it sound like the laptop booted up except the screen is black? Do you hear the fan running and the hard drive spinning? If so try the steps below.
Shine a flashlight on the dark screen to see if you barelysee the icons on the desktop. If so, then the LCD Inverter is bad.

Plug in an external monitor and see if the display shows up on it. It can beany kind of monitor even the old big fat crt monitors as long as it has a vgacable to connect to your computer's vga port. If so that proves yourvideo card is ok. The video will show on most systems when you rebootwithout you having to do anything. Some systems will require you to hit the FN(Function key) + F1 thru F12. Hold down the FN key then hit the correctkey for displaying on the monitor (F1 thru F12). The correct key willnormally have CRT/LCD on it or it will have the icon of a display.

If you see no icons by shinning a flash light and the external monitor works, then your screen is bad. If you see no icons by shinning the flash lightand nothing shows on the external monitor, then most likely your video card isbad.

Why wont my asus a6000 wont power on. I took it apart and put it back together again and now it wont do anything cept the green light and the hardrive spinning. No fan and no screen activity.... Pleas

Sounds like it might have booted up especially when you say after 20 minutes the fan turned on. Maybe everything booted up and is running except your screen is black. You might have disconnected the LCD Cable when you pried the touchpad up to blow out dust. Try the steps below.

Shine a flashlight on the dark screen to see if you barely see the icons on the desktop. If so, then the LCD Inverter is bad.

I have a CQ60-615DX and when I turn it on the screem is black, so what is the problem.

When you turned it on does it seem like the laptop booted up all the way except the screen is black? Do you hear the fan running, the hard drive spinning and everything seems to be ok except the screen is black?

When i turn on my computer nothing pops on the screen

If you have another monitor, I would try that first.

After that, it could be the video card, so you could swap with a good one to be sure if you know how.

Last thing and probably the cause, is either a bad motherboard (most likely) or perhaps a bad cpu (less likely)

Some IT shops will let you bring it in and run some quick tests for the exact cause but my bet is the motherboard....

Hope this helps and hope I am wrong!

My Gateway 450ROG laptop/notebook has problems on start-up. Whenever you turn it on, the fan starts up, then the three lights blink and there is a tone heard immediately after that. But there is nothing...

Try hooking the Laptop to an external monitor like from your desktop pc,,you can see the connection on the back of the laptop,,When you do this, and you can see Windows on the Desktop monitor,,then this would indicate that your Back light on your Laptop screen may have burnt out .

Presario SR1810NX

what monitor.? name and model... vast exist... no all work.
test the monitor first on known good PC that is 1st 1st.
does the Monitor (its button) OSD screens work,, if not monitor is toasted (good power in) if monitor is 2001 relic, some have hidden inside, power saver clock (turn it off , using OSD screens)

no it's not your bios, like the www, myth loves to repeat, ad nausum
here is the correct mess order.
But BIOS screens are the 1st GOAL always,,,, your not there yet.

1: test the monitor first, on other PCs when sure its good move it to
the Presario SR1810NX (and a good known monitor)
2: turn the Presario SR1810NX , on, then see if all fans run
that means SKINS off, omg, the fans are packed in lint , omg2, the CPU fins on its heat sink are packed, bad. (a yearly event)
A CPU can overheat fast, if not able to stay cool.....
CPUs go slower or even halt if the they see massive heat rise.
(built in self preservation mode)

all fans must run and flow air, as the designer wanted. for sure.
then make sure the fan in the PSU runs, if yes, good. if not you lost 12vdc to the fan, bad PSU.

PC sounds to be working, yes?? what do you hear now? a key fact?
3:
push the CD/DVD eject button if it can not eject the PSU is dead.
there are more steps. lots more.
Even the HP service manual tells you how to test the PSU, read that?

Powers up but black screen shows

1st - Try pressing <Fn> + <BrithnessUP> keys a few times, (on HP <Fn> key is between <Ctrl> key and <Windows> key, <BrightnessUP> key is <F8> key and <BrightnessDown> key is <F7> key. If nothing happens try the 2nd one.
2nd - Plugin external monitor, (type and size doesn't matter). Turn on your laptop. If you can see desktop on the external monitor, your drivers are o.k., The problem is your laptop display, NOT the graphic chip.

Black Screen

Look in the back of the Gateway where you currently have the video cable connected. If there are two connectors, (Side by Side) there than disconnect & re-connect to the other. Your display should come up. Don't be fooled. Most Pc's that have no display on their monitor is not a monitor problem but a computer problem.
