My lexmark printer leaves random grey squares all over the printed page

    is this when printing from the computer or when copying from the glass?

    This happened to my Lexmark Pro 715 Deep cleaning the print head will not work

Make sure your printer is updated. The firmware update for the Lexmark Pro205 can be downloaded from the Lexmark website at http://bit.ly/p205fw. If more than one download is listed for your model, try the top download first.
If problem continues, please contact Lexmark technical support for additional assistance. It could be a problem with the printhead.

I would be calling Lexmark about this because this is not a user serviceable issue. If you are down to measuring the size of boxes that it prints out and they are not right, I would want to see what the issue is and how to fix it.

You're Registration is off. This is an adjustment that must be done in the Diagnostic mode of the printer. You're better off getting an actual tech who knows how to make this adjustment. You can move the image left/right and top/bottom. Can mess things up bad if you don't know what you're doing.

After successfully updating your printer, run the Deep Clean Printhead function on your printer.Press the Setup button > Maintenance > Deep Clean Printhead.

I have got black and grey squares appearing on the paper when i print. I have used the maintenance cleaning section to no avail.

Lexmark T642: Will not print text files in Linux


Sounds like there is something corrupt with the driver or the wrong driver is associated with the printer. Delete the printer from the computer, but leave attached. Download the newest driver directly from Lexmark and execute the download. The computer should then automatically re-install the printer.
