The only thing worth a try without replacing the filter, is a mini breaker. By that I mean an electric rock breaker used in the building industry. Go to your nearest tool hire company and rent a breaker and start chiseling away small pieces at a time. Hope this helps!

HOW MUCH IS MY stevens model 94H Savage arms Westvield, Mass. USA 12 gauge gun A130643 26w

That's a 1949 gun, Jackie. While it's a rock solid, workingman's gun, it's not a rare one in any regard. Singles like those were made by the millions for farmers, ranchers, homeowners etc to sit behind the door for when things went bump in the night. It's not rare....they simply last forever and hardly ever break. The wood shrinks and cracks most often and that's the one reason folks sit them in the closet. It's not worth it to spend a lot of money getting it restocked. It's about $100 in usual, used condition. Like new condition can go $150-200 but that's not often. My opinion, and this is from a collector of old singles, is to buy a couple of boxes of 2 3/4" #7 1/2 shot (common target ammo) and just have a great time at the range. It's a good, rock solid gun....unless you see a crack somewhere, it's perfectly safe to use. Buy a box of 00 buckshot shells for home defense. Be warned, though, it'll kick.

How is a sedimentary rock made? what is it made out of?

  1. Sedimentary rocks are formed when sediment is deposited out of air, ice, wind, gravity, or water flows carrying the particles in suspension. This sediment is often formed when weathering and erosion break down a rock into loose material in a source area.

I have a swimming pool sand filter that the sand has gotten hard as a rock. Can not get the sand out.

The sand is hard because it is dirty. IF you can back wash it ... do that. If you can get into the top, break up the sand with your hand. you can then get it out.

Breakers advice

When trenching, the breaker is expected to fracture a solid mass of rock into manageable pieces. The size of the material could be 100's of cu.yds, and the energy will be quickly absorbed. This is why it is recommended to work from a bench so the rock has somewhere to break out. We recommend when trenching in limestone or medium hard rock, to use a 3,000 - 5,000-ft. lb. breaker. When working in hard material we recommend a 7,500 - 10,000-ft.lb. breaker, and if high production is critical, a 13,500-ft.lb. breaker would be beneficial.
