Question about Ibanez Srx505 5 String Srx Bass

1 Answer

I recently broke the E string on my Ibanez 5 string bass and replaced it with a 100 guage one. The sound level is now very low, lower than both adjacent strings. I have tried lowering the bridge, but this has no effect. Any ideas?

Replace it with the same size as the original and the original type. The 100 sounds right for the E. Make sure it is the SAME type string as there are non magnetic for some guitars and if you have magnetic pickups the bronze types won't work. There are also round wound, flat wound and some are flattened on one side. You need to make sure the replacement is exact type. Take sample of old to show store clerk.

Ibanez 5 string bass guitar serial no A 05022695 on underside of neck what is the value

The guitar was made at the Saein Plant, Korea in February, 2005.

Depending on the exact model number and condition, it would sell for approx US$600-900. They are quite well regarded.

I plugged in ibanez sdgr 5 string bass into a peavey 300 monitor and now the guitar wont work.. can somebody tell me what happened and how to fix it?

I'm pretty sure that model has active - battery powered - pickups, and yours is flat, so no output at all. The battery would be under the smaller cover plate on the back

I have an IBANEZ AEG10E with an Ibanez SST Fishman pickup. The problem is the lower three strings are not as loud as the Higher three strings when connected to an amp or mixer.

Assuming you have the bass eq turned up, the problem will be in the pickup rather than the preamp . It's easiest to just replace it.

My s5470 ibanez has a lower output in the two out a phase positions. is this normal or should volume level be the same regardless of toggle position. Thank you Arnold

Volume levels change depending on the settings... Also the harmonic content changes so the "apparent" volume will seem different. Find somebody else with the same unit and compare them side by side. Also the type of strings MAY change the sound.

High action even though neck is straight. I have also messed with the bridge saddles and not much has changed except it gives fret buzz when i lower the saddles just a little bit. Is high action a common...

Sounds like you need to get it intonated. Take it to your local guitar shop tell them your problem and where you'd like your strings to sit or that straight neck of yours won't be like that for long.
Good Luck, Cody J
