Question about Vacuums

1 Answer

MTD Yard Machine, 3.5HP / 20", Model Number 11B-021C516. My lawn push mower is very hard to start... Need to push primer (cold start button) approx 20 times before I can get it to start ... it starts and dies. I have cleaned the air filters, changed the spark plug, changed the oil, clean the gas thank, took apart part of the carb, but NO luck. Will greatly appreciate your assistance/help... Many thanks, Robert

I have checked the primers... all seems to work well. Definitely no holes or torn edges. The vacuum and compression in the combustion chamber seems fine. I have taken carb apart which is very clean and looks very good.

This morning I decided to bring my lawn push mower to a repair/service shop (Centre Bouladier)because I'm not able to locate the problem after doing a thourough check-up and clean up... I need my mower asap to mow my lawn...growing fast with all the rain we have.

Not sure what happens with my $14.00 dollars which I paid for advice?

    Robert

Hi,

Have you checked the primers on both of these units? It is possible that the primers are not putting enough fuel into the system. Look for holes or torn edges. Depending on the engine models. Also it can be lack of necessary vacuum and compression in the combustion chamber. But most probably it is a carb issue. It is suggested to rebuild the carburetor. Also when you clean the carburetor make sure the jet screws are seated in proper position in the way when you put the jets back in, you know to lightly seat them first and then turn them back out to their correct position before you started.

Please get back to us if you have further query else please accept the suggestion.

I have a dyson V6 Mot?rhead model Ju4-us-GBR7075 My machine when I push the power button the machine stops and goes

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.

There are a number of reasons why your Dyson cleaner is pulsating off and on. First, it can be due to a battery of the cleaner. Make sure that the power cable is properly plug to the power and seated properly from the unit while charging. If you find that the battery isn't charging at all, you may need to replace the battery. Second is to check the MAX button of your cleaner. If the button lights up and flashes when your Dyson keeps on pulsating, press and hold the power button and depress the MAX button to turn off the function. You may need to do it for a few times to get the hang of it. Third is to check for any blockages or clogs in the attachments. Look down through the tube and check to see if there are clogs on the sweeper end or if the roller is tangled up in fibers. Clean the roller brush are if it it's necessary. You may need to empty the dust bin of your unit as debris can build up in hard to reach places. Lastly, cleaning the filters may fix the pulsating of your cleaner. Remove the filter and rinse it with cold water and air dry it for 12 hours. Don't use detergent when washing your filters. If the pulsating doesn't go with the given quick fix, I suggest to contact Dyson for further assistance on this.

I need a recoil starter assembly for a MTD lawn mower 2011 with a B&Stratton 158cc 550 series engine.The model # is11A-A18M055, and the serial# is 1211KA0057

The model number that you posted does not apply to the motor. The motor series that you posted is for a vertical motor that does not match the model. Can you supply more information?

Where can I download a manual free for my serger tonight. 14SH 654 model I need to make something tomorrow and have misplaced my manual

The Singer support site has manuals for download or purchase. Start here: http://www.singerco.com/accessories/manuals.html and enter the model number then click Search. Then click on the Free Download button for your machine. There are two different machines with the 14SH654 model number listed; one is an UltraLock and the other is a Finishing Touch sewing machine.

I hope this helps.

Sewing machine problem. . . . . .Hello Rick, My machine is an old Bernina 830. The instructions in your blog make sense and should have fixed my problem, but didn't :-( Question: There are 2 pins that...

Yes, from the information I have on your machine the metal disk you refer to is basically a program disk. It operates like the old self playing pianos did with the holes. You stated that the model number is 830. Is that the model number that is written on the machine?

Check the fluid level in the transmission. If the fluid level is low, the trans will act as if it's slipping.

Brushes not working on vacuum

It would be much more helpful if you would leave the model number of your machine so that I can know exactly which model you have.

If your Panasonic is a canister model, and the rest of the machine works fine, just not the power head, the first thing you should check is the reset button on the powerhead. On the top of the power head there is an "Overload Reset" button. This is a protection feature that will automatically shut off the brushes if anything is vacuumed into the brushes, i.e. sock underneath of the bed, tassels on an oriental rug, etc. This will cut off the brushes to prevent any damage to the belt. With the machine turned on, and the hose switched to carpets, push this reset button down, and the brushes should come on.

If this doesn't fix the problem, and you have a canister model, you may need to replace the electrical hose at this point. You can easily test the hose's continuity, by purchasing a $15 electrical tester from Radio Shack. Simply put one end of the tester into the socket that plugs into the wand, and take the other end, and test the electrical prongs that go into the canister itself, you should be able to determine if your hose is bad by doing this.

If your model is an upright style, the repair is much easier. When the brushes don't spin on an upright, this just means that your belt has either broken, or fallen off. If you'd give me your model number, I can easily give you instructions with part numbers of the belt you'll need to buy. Please just send me an email with your model number, and I'll send you a blown up parts schematic to your vacuum by email.

Let me know if you have any other questions,

1957 Sunbeam Twin-Blade electric lawn mower shaft bushing

Generic problem for all Vacuums
1957 Sunbeam Twin-Blade electric lawn mower shaft...
Posted by mower man on Jun 08, 2008
I have a late 50's series Sunbeam twin-blade electric lawn mower that I use regularly. The shaft bushing(s) on the left blade has worn out, and there's too much play for me to run it w/o ruining the machine.
It appears that the belt-run cog inside the housing is the part that is supposed to come off of the shaft to get to the bushings, but instead of a cotter pin or other fastener holding the cog in place, it looks like a rolled metal pin that may have been pressed in place.
How do I replace the shaft bushings so I can keep using this great vintage appliance!? I found a website that supplies parts for this model year, but no schematics or user manuals. Thanks!

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. This website is for vacuums and you would need to contact a local lawn mower shop in the yellow pages, they are amazing about the way they can fix old lawnmowers.

So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
Thanks, Don the Vac Man

Leaking

My machine leaked badly BUT it was my own fault. There is a one-time only setup procedure where you squeeze the trigger and push the Clean-Surge button to lock a rod into place. Push the Clean-Surge button VERY HARD. There will be a loud SNAP which sounds like you broke something, but you didn't. I didn't push hard enough initially, all I got was a click which I thought was enough. My machine leaked so I called the help line. They told me to push the button harder, and sure enough, they were right. Until you get that snap, the Clean-Surge (which releases a little extra water-cleaner solution) is on all the time, hence the leaking
