Sounds like the fan relay is stuck and staying on so that the fan continually spins. Pretty common issue and shouldnt be to much for a tech to replace. If you do the job, just make sure that you get the right part. Parts house will need serial and model number for the unit

sounds like you need to check your run cap it is silver in the outside unit and it runs the compressor and fan motor. Check on the capacitor what size it is and replace it for example 45+5 uf.

Carrier 2000ss will not turn on. Checked fuses and they are okay.

Inside the outside unit is a pcb with fault diagnosis lights on. It could be anything from a weak start capacitor to a compressor fault or even short of gas. See what lights are on and check the manual

The pipes had ice on the inside pipe and outside on the ac unit. All was shut off til ice melted. HVAC Tech was called in...motor, we were told needed to be replaced and so it was. New motor, new...

Ice forming on the suction side is normal and on really humid and hot days you will see it as the unit runs longer and the suction is very cold. I am not certain as to why the tech told you to use a sprinkler on the system unless he thought you had a Hi head pressure or he just wanted to calm your concerns regarding the icing as you say the fan came back on ????. .. now with all that said it appears something got wet and shorted out .. could be a number of things . the outdoor fan contactor, the tstate wiring, or the motor got wet and burned out... was the unit cooling well even with the ice? I think it should have .. let me know.

Carrier outside Unit will not power on. Every 45 sec's to a 1min it will make a humming sounds like its trying to power on but wont. The fan unit inside will come on but will not disburse cold air

You probably have a bad run capacitor in your outside unit. You will need to cal a service tech to test and replace it, until then turn your system off until it is repaired. Continuing to try to run it will over heat the compressor and fan motor and cause them damage.

The outside fan is not spinning in my carrier tech 2000ss. I was trying to find the panel outside to reset it but I dont know where it is. Can you please help me?

Hello,

The outside unit will have finned tubes on three sides, and sheet metal on the fourth side. The panel is located behind the sheet metal panel.

Best regards, W/D

Is it normal for fan on outside unit to be on while on heat mode

Yes, it is normal with a heatpump, you run the outside unit in cooling and heating.
It is also normal when the outside unit goes into defrost for the outdoor fan to shut off during the defrost mode and to see steam coming out of the outside unit, while it's melting the frost or ice, then the fan will come back on.

Fan is keeps jamming on out side unit machine runs but no cold air comes out

If the outside fan doesn't work , the compressor will shut off on overload and you won't get any cold air , so try to replace the fan capacitor and if still doesn't work , you have to change the fan motor.

Air con runs for 5 mins then stops, unit outside still going

ok depending on what part of the world your in and the season . Winter: most split systems are designed around a set given temperature of operation , if this is a heating problem the what you are experiencing is the system going into deforest . bare in mind that those carrier splits are manufactured in china and are designed for about 35 deg C in summer and +5 in winter , anything out of this temp range will cause this , especially if it is running on freon 22 , in-which case it sounds like its short of gas to me . if its a new R410 a system , then check your filters and if they are clean and its still doing the same then it too is short , in each case a refrigeration mechanic is required.

My Carrier 58dxc is making a loud noise

If your turning on heat and the unit is knocking and blowing cold air, your compressor is having problems in heat mode, could be reversing valve. A tech is needed in your situation. Getting the prob fixed right away will save you dollars..
