Get a piece of cardboard the same size as the evaporator. Move the temp sensor so the machine will not shut down. Cover the evaporator and watch the suction line. If it frosts back to the compressor then the machine does not need freon.

AIRCON NOT COOLING

Hi Marvin Mallari...

Sounds like your system may be low on freon...take it to an ac shop to have it check and filled to specs.
If your mechanically inclined you can buy a aircon freon kit from your local auto part house and add the freon to you system yourself.

There's only fan blow and there's no aircon once i turn on the aircon switch.what could be the problem??need advise

Your a/c system could have a leak causing no freon in the system. If you could, add a can or cans of freon with leak detector into the low pressure side and listen for your compressor to start cycling. If it does the good news is your compressor is good. The bad news is you have a freon leak and need to find out where it is. It could be as simple as a bad shrader valve.

Just had aircon regassed on 2002 focus bowers working aircon light on but not cold at all

If freon was added because of a leak, it could have leaked down again. If freon levels are too low, the compressor will not switch on. Check to see if the center (it is connected to the compressor shaft) of the compressor pulley is turning.

It can show you how to check what gas you are using, how to check the system and how to top it up if neccessary, there is plenty of info and video if you need it.
I found it a great help when my wife had problems with the aircon in her Pontiac.
