Hello and welcome to FixYa!
The splash.jpeg file is only a picture file. This may not intervene on the program installation. Just double click the setup.exe file to execute the installation.
Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

How do I insert dvds into my asus f452e series laptop

The optical drive is on the right hand side of the laptop.
Push the button in the middle of the drive to open it and put in the disc.

The disc drive on my acer Aspire 5742G will not read any music cd's or dvds. I makes plenty of noise as though it is trying to open it but nothing!

The CD/DVD drive may need reseating to make proper electrical connection. Remove this drive and insert it back into the laptop.
Next try cleanibg the drive.
The laser lens maybe dirty, use a CD/DVD lens cleaning kit to clean the lens int the drive.
If this does not fix your problem then the CD/DVD drive is faulty and needs to be replaced.

I insert the USB to my computer and it recongizes the device. However, when I click on the device it says to insert disk into drive. Help!!!

Are you sure you're not clicking on the cd/dvd drive in your system?
When you insert your usb stick the existing drive letters may get displaced which can easily be confusing.
Just to be sure, pop a cd in your drive and see if it opens when you click on it (when you've got your usb stick inserted) If you right-click on your drives and select 'properties' you can see which one is 4gb
which will identify your usb drive.

Open tray error

You need to either replace the drive with a working drive or replace the laser within your current drive. If you change drives you will first need to obtain your dvd-key and then flash it into your new drives firmware.

Cannor Read DVDs

I have a similar issue to you, except that my dvd drive will only recognize a disc if I have booted up into windows with it in the tray...once in windows it will still think it has the first disc in no matter what disc i insert. If i boot up with no disc then it will never read it unless I follow the steps below.

A solution I found by pure frustration and trying all sorts of things is to eject the DVD tray and leave it opened, then right click on the dvd drive in 'my computer' and select the 'hardware' tab...then select the drive and click 'properties'.
A new window should open. Select 'volumes' and click 'populate'. Now close the window and insert the disc you wish to read, close the tray and repeat this process. Windows should now recognize the disc you inserted

Alot of trouble I know, but it works for me. Hope this helps.

I dont know how to play dvds on ancer 5610z

Here's something to try:

1) Make sure you are inserting your DVD in a DVD drive. (Usually has a DVD logo on the tray.)
2) With the computer on, insert a DVD in the DVD drive and wait for a box to pop-up. (If a box does not pop up, Go to "My Computer" and double-click on the DVD drive.)
3) Choose to open in a software capable of playing DVDs. (Windows Media Player, PowerDVD, ect.)

If the the software does not play the DVD, this could indicate a missing codec or a hardware problem.

Ubuntu 8.10 install

Just insert the CD in your hard drive and wait for the splash screen, but if it does not appear, open up explorer and go to your CD drive folder and find autorun. Doubleclick on that so the splash screen appears. It has the choices and options for installation. Another way is to go to your BIOS and make your PC boot to your CD drive, then insert CD in drive and restart. It will come up with the Ubuntu live installation.

I accidently dropped the dvd player on the floor. And now it will not play any dvds. After I insert the dvd it says no-disc. What do I do to fix the proble?

The lens or sensor has been displaced. You will need to get this serviced, or you'll have to purchase a new player (whichever works out cheaper for you)

Cannot play dvds

well my knowledge on dvd is not as good as I want it to bes. But, check the small print in your manual of the unit and see if it supports the formats of the dvds you are using. I know I used to get certain music cdr and burn cds on them and the cd player I had would not take certain cds. I had to see in the manual to see what the problem was and it had to be a good quality of cdrs and certain formats before it would play them. Wish I had a better answer for ya but that is the best I can do for ya. oh yeah check with some of the techs at best buy or circuit city. They have technicians in there that can probably tell ya. Make sure you have what type and model number of the unit you have and what type of dvds you have been using.
