Paper my printer has paper in the drawer but the red light indicating no paper is on and the printer won't print It appears as though 1 piece of paper is jammed in the roller, though there could be more below that I cannot see.  I have opened the front, there is paper in the drawer, I have opened the back and "collapsed" the black plastic grid.  I have turned the machine off and on again,  The red light indicating paper stays on.

I had the same problem. No paper jamed in the printer and plenty of paper in the tray but still the red paper light stayed on an would not print. Solution I found was with the paper tray. The gears that lift up the paper in the tray were stuck and would not rotate to lift up the paper in the tray. I just turned the gears by hand to loosen them and made sure the paper lift in the paper tray would work with the gears. Worked for me. Hope this helps.

Then you have some buried deep inside..turn light off in office, close door, and use a flashlight or penlight..paper will glow from light..that will help a bit..then long tweezers to extract the fragments, eh?

How do I clear paper jam

The flashing error code that indicates a jammed printer is the digital-age equivalent of a flat tire. Sooner or later it happens to everyone, so you'd better know how to get things moving again if you want to finish your print job.

1.Turn the printer off and on to see if it can automatically clear some or all of the jam. Many printers provide an error-code listing on the front panel display for the area where the jam occurred. If your printer shows an error code, be sure and check the printer manual to see if that identifies the area of the printer where the jam occurred.

2.Turn off the printer.

3.Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.

4.Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.

5.If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it in a bag or away from light to avoid damaging it.

6.If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly (see A). The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.

7.If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper (see B). Don't force anything, though.

8.Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.

9.If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.

I hope this will help you :)

* RED Ink and RED paper lights flash alternately- The CD/DVD tray guide was left open when you turned on the printer or when printing on paper. Just simply close it/

The red and green lights are flashing continously and it won print

The lights continually flashing indicate a paper jam or the printer being out of ink. Check/clear any paper jam and verify the ink cartidge is set correctly.

Red "Paper" light stays on; printer will not print.

Paper light flashing could mean several things on this machine.

There could be a paper jam in the machine. Open the front cover remove the drum and toner and look in the machine. You can also check in between the drum and toner by removing the toner from the drum. Open the back cover and look for a Jam as well.

Try putting a piece of paper in the manual feed tray which is right above the paper tray, sometimes on certain documents the margins are too big and asks to go into the manual feed slot.

The paper light is flashing

My printer is constantly getting jammed, spitting out blank sheets of paper in between every printed sheet, clicking and snapping, etc.
There are a few places to check for a jam - pull the paper drawer out and check there, take the toner cartridge out and you'll often find a sheet there that you cannot see from any other angle, open the little compartment at the back and check there and the usual paper sticking out of the output just enough to pull it out the rest of the way.
Good luck!
I'll be looking for a new printer this week though. I can't take the constant paper jams and sifting out the blank sheets when I'm printing 500+ statements a month.
Definitely NOT an office friendly machine!
