SOURCE: rinse not hot enough

145 degree is just your hot water temp and that your dishwasher hot water booster is not working assuming that this machine has worked in the past to produce final rinse water above 180 degrees. Remove the bottom panel and to the right you will see the booster tank, look for a nickel size component with a small red button on it. Try pushing on it to reset it. If that does not work, check for voltage at your heating element on your booster tank. (the thicker wires) If voltage is present then your heating elements need replacing.

SOURCE: P1 error code on LX30 Hobart

This is a bad sump temperature probe. The unit will function, but will not heat nor display the wash water temperature.

This is a very easy fix. Order Hobart part number 328994 from your nearest Hobart parts dept.

Turn off and drain the unit. Kill the power to the unit at the circuit breaker. Remove the lower front cover. Locate the screw-in temperature probe at the front of the sump. Unplug the sensor from the wiring harness, remove with a 7/16" open end wrench. Screw in the new probe, using teflon tape of the threads, snuggly. It does not need to be super tight. Plug it into the harness, reinstall the front cover, turn the breaker back on, and start up the unit.

TURN THE BREAKER OFF AS EVEN WITH THE UNIT "OFF" THERE WILL BE 120 VOLTS PRESENT AT THE SUMP HEATER (yellow wires) DUE TO ONLY ONE LEG OF POWER BEING SWITCHED OFF!

My dishwasher doesn't seem to clean the dishes and takes a long times to dry the dishes too What could be causing this problem?

water not hot enough
blocked jets in the spray bars
blocked filter for the pump

My wash cycles are not cleaning dishes because water is not hot enough. Wash times have sometimes increased for same cycle.

It might be your dishwasher detergent. Try adding some TSP (tri-sodium phosphate) to your detergent.

Bf72 not doing the wash cycle correctly

If you are using hot water connection then check the temperature of incoming water is hot enough. If cold water inlet only is used then most likely the heater element or thermostat in the dishwasher is faulty and the water is not heating enough.

The water does not get hot enough. I think it's the reason why dishes are not coming out clean. In normal conditions do I need to wash the dishes (like the manager of this apt. complex suggests) before I...

No you need not wash the dishes but just cleaning of the debris and then putting it in the dishwasher for proper cleaning will help you to prevent the drain from getting blocked.

First perform a vinegar cycle wash in the dishwasher. Pour a cup of vinegar into the bottom of the dishwasher. Keep the temperature at the highest setting possible and perform a wash cycle. Then start using a dishwasher most probably that would solve the problem. If this does not solve the problem then there must be some parts worn out or faulty creating the problem.

There are many probable causes of failure .

To clean the dishes the water temperature is essential. It the water is not hot then the dishes will not be cleaned properly. So check the water temperature.

Also check the filter in your dishwasher.Clean the filter if there is accumulation of debris in the filter.

Dishes not clean

Run a hot wash without the dishes and a quart of white vinegar plus detergent which should wash out any oily film left by the water folks when they were 'fixing' whatever. You may have to do this several times until the water runs clean as before. Hope this helps!

sounds like you may not be getting enough water.it will stop if water is in short supply.this may be if you are running washer at the same time.or running a bath.if hot water is in short supply, this maybe a hotwater heater problem.have you been running out of hot water when showering or bathing?

Why does the soap not melt or get distributed to the dishes?

Using too much soap is worse than not using enough. Over time, soap scum will build up and plug the internal plumbing of the dishwasher. Often, there is simply not enough water in the dishwsher to be effective. The GE uses an electric solonoid which opens when it is time to drain. This item can get corroded and allows water to pump out when it is supposed to be washing. Also, it is possible you are not getting enough water because of supply problems. Disconnect the hot water line and check the flow of water and also the intake screen to see if it is plugged. If you have ample water after the a wash cycle has been running for several minutes, check the water timeperature. It should be around 120 degerrs F.

Hope this helps, Ken

Water not very hot

Yes there is a heater in the dishwasher, but I am suprised it goes through the cycle if it is not heating. for this reason I would suspect that it is a thermostat problem. these are situated underneath the machine. you will need a test meter, to have an engineer do this repair it should cost no more than 70 pound.
