Question about Vacuums
The winder is activated by a coil spring located in a drum. The drum transmits the power from the wire with 2 circular contacts. To replace the cable you must dismantle the case to access the drum, take the spring pressure out carefully as to not let it spring outside the case (2 meters of a flat spring band are a nightmare to put back in) , gently pull the drum out as to not damage the circular connectors then uncoil the cable and unscrew its ends from the contact blades. Refitting is the opposite.
As you can see it's not a complicated job, but if you do it wrongly it can mess up your day. You should decide if you are skilled enough to do it.
