It could be because of various reasons.

First of all check if the phone is on?
I mean even if the LCD is not working is the cell is ON? You can check that by calling ur number from a friend's cell phone and see if the ring tone rings.

If the phone is on then your problem is not because of Battery.

If it is in the warranty take it to the nearest sales and service center as it might be the result of a fall or damaged connections.

If that doesn't work then the only option for you would be to buy a new one.

How to fix the display on cordless philips phone

As indicated in previous posts, cordless phones often have LCD problems due to being in the charger housing too long. Remove the phone from charger when fully charged. Next time feel how the phone heats up after leaving the phone in charger for too long. it will be more cost effective to buy new handset as replacing the LCD.

hope this helps
enjoy:)

Why doesn't the LCD display doesn't work?

Does the LCD not work at all? or do you mean that it doesn't display Caller ID information? If the LCD is completely dead, you'll need to get the phone repaired. On the other hand, if it's just the Caller ID that's on the fritz, try this: unplug the base from the power socket; remove any batteries in both the base and the handset; wait one minute; plug the base back into the wall and replace all batteries. This will reset the Caller ID so it works again. (Depending on the phone you may or may not lose settings and memorized numbers.) If this doesn't help, the problem will require a professional repair.

Display screen unreadable. Removing battery

You have an (unfixable) LCD screen problem - the Liquid Crystal Display is dying (or broken by impact).
The best you can do (without a spare LCD screen and soldering/electronic repair skills) is hope that
there's a workaround that lets you use the phone without the LCD screen working.

Exploring a workaround: call the cordless from your cell phone, and see if you can answer by just using the keypad - if so, then the cordless works and it can be used until the whole phone dies (rather than just the LCD screen).
Most consumers just end up buying a new cordless about every year since these units take too much accidental abuse to last long.
If you decide to scrap the unit, save the battery for recycling at your nearest Home Depot.
They accept
old rechargeable batteries of any type - NiCad types used in cordless phones are especially toxic
(the (heavy metal) cadmium poisons spermatogenesis). Even better, save the battery for your
other GE 25932 5.8 GHz cordless phone - if you have a pair, then its mate's battery is old too.

Lcd display not working

if the LCD display screen is broken/cracked?
it will need to be replaced. with new one,
take your phone to your nearest service centre. or phone shop

or if you are confident to do it your self,
you could buy a screen from ebay etc
and fit it your self (voids the warranty, if there is any)

[but only if you are sure that the fault is with the lcd screen]
