Don't jump to conclusion, try to check first the power cord of your laptop.from AC input to your DC output check it one by one
or try another power cord and laptop battery that has the same brand.

No power and batt is good

My first guess would be a dead cell inside the battery, or a blown fuseable link between the battery and the fuse box.
Someone would need to check the battery connections and fuse box with a meter.

That batt is almost dead, had a similar problem. No tricks just replace it. Or try charging using a universal charge where you remove the batt and charge it seperately

Battery Packs for Powerware 9355 UPS

The Batts can be charged externally, then refitted, usually I extend the DC cables so I can work with the batt outside the unit. This is ONLY to be done if you understand the risk and what may happen if you get it wrong.

Batts are always live and can cause fire/explosion/severe burns if shorted!
IF YOU ARE NOT SURE THEN GET SOME EXPERIENCED HELP!

OK so the UPS will not normally recognise a very low batt pack, that is the reason you can not start the test, this test will back of the rectifier so the batt pack takes the load for a short period.

If the batt pack is out of range then this will make the load go off, so the UPS is designed not to allow the test, unless the batt is at the right level.

If you can get the batt pack up close to normal then the unit will recharge it to full.,Wait until it is fully charged before testing.
If this is sucessful the cyle the batt a few times allowing it to reach around low batt warning before recharging. This will assist the batt in recovery. During this process if possible monitor with a test intrument(fluke 123 or 43B will do) the batt pack discharge curve , once the batt pack has dropped to its charge level from float, it should be a smooth decay.
depending on the state of the batts you may be ok, if there are weak ones in the string then you may have to replace all of them depending on the age of the batt pack.

MAKE SURE YOU ARE VERY CAREFUL WITH BATTERIES, THEY ARE VERY DANGEROUS, AND ALWAYS LIVE!

Check you manual for safety procedures, BEFORE working on Batteries.

hope this helps

Tried to jump start car with leads, battery sparked. lights work but engine wont start

Either you have a completly dead batt. or your starter is shot.. You can not jump a car with a flat dead Batt. but a BOOST PACK will....it's all about the AMPERAGE.

My gmas 98 avenger (2.0) wont start. i bought her a batt about 6 mnths ago. it ran fine. but she let it sit for a week, now no start. batt is dead. afteri charge it wont turn or even make a sound, then...

Back to "square one" If battery was drained by a short, etc and sat for a week like that, likely the battery is now doa...Have it tested. Then start checking for source of drain...at this point everything is suspect. Put an ammeter between either battery cable and battery and start pulling fuses till draw is gone. then check system that fuse serves. Yes \, could be a bad alternator but you really should test before wasting time especially if it's not that.

Hi-- This is actually a problem with the Canon LK-51B battery pack that goes with the iP90v portable printer. We've charged up the battery pack and all the lights have gone out, indicating full...

electronics should not be relied on to realy confirm u need to use a second battery pack to connect ur printer n see if the same thing will occure. i guess the battry inside d pack may be dead even though its a new one.

Wont turn on

Well have you tried putting brand new fresh batt's in the unit? If they are rechargeable they may have simply discharged or if "normal" batt's they may just have gone flat.

Battery

if you did keep the lappy on the charger all the time with the batt still pluged in it will wear the batt down...Yes even if you never ran off the batt...they lose power and recharge even when not being run off of...check the connections though and if you can see any probs (dirt, disscoloration anything) then it could be there. If now try finding a batt store that deals with batts they norm can test and fix em if its only a cell or so that has gone bad other than that run it down till its dead and recharge it to the max and see..
