Question about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T300 Digital Camera

1 Answer

I bought a sony digital camera DSC T300 at a Sony Store in NJ. It was fine for the first year. But thereafter, there were unpleasant vibrations that make the camera useless. Do fix this for free? How do I go about it?

There is a broken SteadyShot inside the camera. You have to find out how long warranty period you have. Check your documents or contact your seller.

I bought a new sony T-300 cam 2008 aug...no probs up to one year.then it start vibrating after taking some photos...........now the same condition.some time it may work properly....then it will again...

It's a stabilizer problem, not a CCD problem, a well known problem for many Sony cameras. The stabilizer or even the whole lens unit has to be replace. You can find some used lens for T300 easily on eBay, but you can't be sure this problem won't happen again in a day, week, month or a year. I would suggest replacing the lens at the Sony service center, but if it's expensive there - look for another camera.

The camera vibrates when it is powered on and fails to focus the object properly.

sounds like lense gears are going bad, when you turn camera on the lense extends, if it does not extend fully probably will not auto focus, call sony for address for estimate of repairs.
