I got a couple of virus infected my PC a week ago (Essential Cleaner & MS Removal Tool). I had to download instructions on how to remove such virus on the internet. I managed to remove the first virus (Essential Cleaner) from my PC and the sytem works well after the removal. 2 days after another virus infected my pc (MS Removal Tool) i also managed to remove the virus (both through the registry edit and some applications from the net) but after the removal, any multimedia devices on my computer just won't work anymore. Including my A4tECH Pk 635k Webcam cannot be installed. There are also yellow markings on the Audio Submenu of the Device Manager. When I opened the DX Diagnostics, it says that it doesn't have a sound card installed on my computer so I bought a USB Sound Card Adapater hoping the problem will be resolved, but it didn't worked either. There's an error message that the hardware isn't installed correctly. I need my webcam to be installed and use in Yahoo Messenger but the webcam has a built in microphone in it that's why, I think, it just can't be installed because of the sound card problem. Anyone please let me know what to do. Thanks.

Hi ktrnagulto
Probably you didn' t need to buy a new sound card . When the diagnostic said " it doesn't have a sound card installed " , this normally means rhe driver is missing and you have to go to the sound card manufacturer's site and download the driver from there . Windows 7 generally searches and installs drivers automaticaly when you go to the device manager , click on the yellow marked devices and go for an drivers update . Reinstall also the webcam driver(s) .
About your viruses , complete your computers cleaning up by downloading MalwareBytes from http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html . Let it scan
your system and destroy any remaining spyware / malware.
Best regards ,

Please go back to the device manager and try to update the sound driver . Eventually , go to your motherboards site . Your sound card couldn' t have disappeared ! Check the volume settings of your system .
TIP FOR NEXT TIME : create an image of your entire system , easy in windows 7 . Go to Start and type " backup " in the search bar . Select " backup your computer \ create a system image " and follow instructions . Good luck , don't despair ! fanaudi .

Thank you sir. I downloaded the LIVE Update for my MSI Neo 468F Motherboard, and I guess it works in some ways after installing.

Yesterday, I tried to enable full control on the "DeviceDesc" files under PCI\ VENs files on the Registry Editor. My webcam is now working but the microphone is not. I succesfully updated the drivers under SOUNDS on the Device Manager (files with yellow markings) but when I restarted the computer the Multimedia Audio Controller again has a yellow mark and I cannot update it again flashing the annoying error message "The file is not valid".

By the way, I downloaded the ksuser.dll file and placed it under C:\Windows\System32 folder, before I succesfully installed the hardwares I mentioned earlier and the webcam starts working.

Now my problem is the Sound. i can't hear anything. I also tried connecting the USB SOUND card adapter i bought yesterday and still not working either.

There are different issues possible :
Try to identify your Multi media controller and download the correct driver from the manufacturer's website . Please pay attention to download the full version in compatibility with your OS .
Otherwise , there could be a problem with your XP install disc and some kind of virus is still somewhere around .
Complete your computers cleaning up by downloading free MalwareBytes fromhttp://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-An... . Let it scan
your system and destroy any remaining spyware / malware . You will solve your issue soon .
    Best regards , fanaudi .

Even if you remove a virus, most of the cases, the damage cannot be repaired. Remove the sound driver and install it once again. If that doesn't work, you should consider reinstalling the OS.

    hi ktrnagulto,
After reinstalling the OS you shouldn't be having problems.

Hi there!
Download and install Malwarebytes in your computer. It should automatically update to the latest database version. Run a full scan and it will detect the virus infection in your computer. Remove all infections found and do not restart the computer yet. Click on the quarantine tab and select delete all. Reboot the computer and it should be working fine.

I keep getting ms removal tool that says that computer is infected

It could be usually thats how they start. Do not respond to any kind of download they recommend. If you don't have anti virus you can download Avira here. It's free and will handle most usual problems.:

If you have anti virus runit now or soon, if you don't get this and try it. Are your popup's blocked? If you have questions let me know at "add a comment"

My computer has been infected with an advertisement called system tool 2001 how do i get rid of it

You will need to download Malwarebytes at http://dw.com.com/redir?edId=3&siteId=4&oId=3000-8022_4-10804572&ontId=8022_4&spi=5140d1b496d649f9fd6a1753b6b61dfd&lop=link&tag=tdw_dltext&ltype=dl_dlnow&pid=11665648&mfgId=6290020&merId=6290020&pguid=bSHb7goOYI8AAEDK-YkAAAAs&destUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fdownload.cnet.com%2F3001-8022_4-10804572.html%3Fspi%3D5140d1b496d649f9fd6a1753b6b61dfd%26part%3Ddl-10804572
. Here instructions: a) Burn these programs to CD or write them to USB disk (you can use an MP3 player):
Spyware Doctor ( http://www.2-viruses.com/spdoc.exe ) Registry fix : http://www.2-viruses.com/wp-content/uploads/exeregfix.reg to restore normal execution of registry You might want to download Hitman Pro or Malwarebytes as alternate scanners. Though you are likely to be able to download them later on. b) Boot normally. Wait for XP Security Tool 2011 to launch, and run exeregfix.reg . This should allow launching legitimate programs c) Delete or remove the files that are mentioned in our files box. You can use Spyware Doctor to identify the infected files and additional infections. Do not forget update it before scanning. Remove what it finds. d) Scan with Spyware Doctor and secondary tools and reboot your PC. This should fully get rid of XP Security Tool 2011.
