System does not see new video card

Confirm the card works in another system to eliminate it as a suspect. Try a beefier power supply in the machine (sometimes these 300 to 350 watt supplies just cant hang when an addon card is installed). Check the BIOS settings and make sure that the PCI Express slot resources are active for the card. If the card uses a power connector, make sure it is connected. Keep us posted.

Flickering display

if it happens with external monitor then it's probably video card.
most likely a cold solder joint on the board. OR if it's a plug in type board it might just need to be re-seated.

PC Hangs at POST

Unplug the harddrive data cable, take out any cards that are plugged in, (ie., sound card, tv card, modem, etc..) and turn on the pc and see if you can get into the BIOS. If you can, go through your BIOS settings one by one and save settings. Plug the HDD back in and turn on the PC. Don,t insert the cards just yet. If it boots to windows your on your way.
