How much different is skiing on real snow than skiing indoors? Would I need more training?

If you have basic skiing skills, you'd be fine trying to ski outdoors. However, the level of difficulty would depend on the kind of terrain that you are attempting to ski on. You can only really learn from experience. But it helps to have someone who knows a thing or two to help you with it in the beginning. You could try enrolling for one of those backcountry skiing courses that are offered by ski training schools in Alberta, a popular destination offering many popular skiing opportunities. A quick google search would yield you with more options to choose from if you'd like for more such schools nearer to you.

What different types of cross-country skis are there?

there are two types

1. general touring skis -these are for track skiing. They are long, narrow, and light compared to metal-edge skis, making them more efficient and very fast. This makes them better to use for the groomed trails.

2. metal-edge skis -for skiing out-of-track or on steeper terrain. They are heavier than touring skis and have metal edges to grip the snow and ice. The edges also help with turning on steep slopes. They are meant for deep snow and icy terrain. They are wider in order to be more stable.

What are the different types of water-skis?

The different types of water-skis are: combination pairs, slalom skis (one ski), and trick skis. Combination pairs are the most popular type and are used by beginners due to the ease of their use. Slalom skis are more advanced than combination pairs, which make them more difficult to learn. Good thing about them is that you can reach a greater speed with them and making sharp turns. Trick skis are used by individuals who want perform all kinds of tricks (jumping, spinning, and other tricks).

2002 gti sea doo wont turn over on the first try

if you have one of the kill cords that is round and it snaps onto a round button that has a silver dot in the center that when the kill lanyard is snapped into place makes a connection to the silver part inside of the kill lanyard itself. most the time its because it is still verifying that it is the right key. they are programed to match you CDI box/ignition module of your ski. this prevents theft. if you clean both the key and the button the key connects to with some rubbing alcohol to insure a good clean connection will most likely solve the problem. when you put the key on the ski you should hear a beep then wait 5 to 10 seconds before hitting the start stop button . that gives the ski time to recognize the key is in fact the correct key to the ski.. hope this helps

Need instructions for Barrecrafters ski rack

We figured this one out today, after pounding, twisting, sliding, gerunding, etc.

It will not slide backward (as a safety mechanism, of course) unless your latches (the ones that connect / clamp onto the car) are completely loose. That means, that looking at the rack from the end, you'll see this oblong deal that you'll use to tighten the rack to a car. As you turn it clockwise the rack will tighten, right?

Ok. Just make sure that that guy is as loose as he gets, and your piece will slide back just fine.
