Shut power off to Air Handler first before hooking up the thermostat..... Looks like the Hunter Thermostat does not have a Common Terminal...... Is it a Heat Pump thermostat???? I am not a big Fan of Hunter Thermostats they do not have the features that Honeywell thermostats have.
Back to your Question:
G to G ; R to Rc&Rh : O to Y/O; White Wire to W/B; Y to Y1;
L-Black is not used it was for a service lite
C-Blue will not be used it was the common wire

With the Hunter Stat you will not have an emergercy heat option

SOURCE: i am replacingh my thermostat.

Thanks for your Question,
B- is your common leg,
RH- is your hot to heating
RC1- you will not need
RC- you can use if you remove the jumper for cooling
Y1- you will not need
G- is your fan
O is not needed, wires should be hooked in as follows,
RH- red wire, heating
RC- Yellow wire, Cooling
G- Green wire, Fan
B- Blue wire, for common leg, this one might be a different color so make sure at the furnace which T-Stat wire is connected to Common, you should check all the wiring at the furnace to make sure this pattern of wiring is followed, it should be standard practice to hook them up this way, but not all installers do it, thanks again, please rate this,

Wiring honeywell th8320u1008

Be sure you are looking at the letters set up for heat pump. Orange should be "O". Remove jumper between w2 and e. Then be sure you have the settings correct in the tstat for a heat pump with back up heat. Good Luck!!

there is it all depends on how many strands of wire are in there, they start at 2 wire and go to i think 8 wire and maybe more.
The wires are as follows:
1. red = power to stat.
2. green = fan control
3. blue or yellow = ac
4. white = heat
w1 = 1st. stage heat
w2 = 2nd. stage heat.
i am on line if you have any questions. wally

Need wiring diagram for Honeywell RCT8100

The old thermostat has a second stage heat which is W2. The new one doesn't have second stage heat.
The wiring your describing on the old thermostat is telling me you have a heat pump with second stage heat and the new thermostat is for air conditioning only. You will need to get a thermostat for a heat pump.
