My Golf Buddy GPS is showing four numbers instead three. Example; a par 4 that is 380 yds. will show 1055yds. The yardage does go down as you travel to the ball but will still show 900yds. for your next shot. I have only used it app. ten times since I bought it. What could the trouble be! Should I try it at another golf club! Thanks for your time Rick Lemenchick

Loss of GPS Signal and Yardages

It is often thought that a GPS device like the SkyCaddie should keep constant uninterrupted view and connection to the satellites, thus always giving accurate yardage information. This is true of cellular technology, indoors or out, etc, but not for a GPS device like the SkyCaddie. A clear, unobstructed view of the sky must always be maintained for optimum performance. Here are some other tips:

1. When going to play golf, the SkyCaddie should have a fully charged battery and should be allowed to search and acquire satellites for at least 10-15 minutes, prior to play. During this time, the device should be stationary. Many people power the device on then head straight to the course. From that point on, the yardage info you get may be off or may not show at all.

2. Is the golf course you are playing in need of an update? It's good to plug your SkyCaddie into your computer and allow it to sync with the SkyCaddie desktop software. You will receive updates to the device if you do this periodically and you can view your course list to see if any of your downloaded golf courses should need an update. An unupdated golf course on the device can cause yardage problems.

3. Placing the SkyCaddie in your pocket during the game, placing it in a golf cart cup holder, tall trees or heavy shrubbery, hilly terrain, very overcast cloudy days, etc., all can impede satellite acquisition and yardage accuracy.

4. Internal issues. Most SkyCaddie models may have an outward antennae view, but there is also an inward antennae connection that could be compromised. If this is true, the user will not know this, as this type of issue is internal and will need to be sent in to the company for repair, contact them to have this done. This can also be the source of why a device never seems to acquire satellites and/or give accurate yardage information.

Can i get the charging port on my golf buddy pt4 replaced. When you connect the cable it is loose

Me, too. Golf Buddy charges on floor of car but something bent charging port while hooked up.
Replaced charge cord, then have to position GB so that charge cord pulls "down" on port in order to see flashing light charging in progress.
Has brand new battery Jan 2021 so not quite ready to replace it with new.
Now I know battery replacement is waste of time/money since this is a cheap product - and FYI lies about yardage of some holes LOOOOONG time reported to GB who cares nothing about a fix - so, if anything goes wrong, simply donate & buy new ... until the completion has us all gleefully putting GB in our rear view mirror

My new LD2 golf buddy stopped and wnt't move

Your batteries charge properly? You might have a bad battery that is preventing the other good ones from working. Test all batteries individually to sort out the bad one. But that car is new and should be under warranty!!!!!Refer this all back to the dealer you got it from.

Change from meters to yards on a Golf Buddy VS4

Buddy VS4 has this bug. You don't need to worry about it and I'll suggest you not to buy golf gps before checking their reviews online.

If you want to check reviews, this is the best reviews site (https://ourrangefinder.com/best-golf-gps-rangefinders/) I ever found.

It reads 10 to 20 yards shorter than actual yardage.

re-calibrate the unit or get a more accurate unit
20 yards for a cheap gps unit is about average
remember that you actual yardage is measured by the revolutions and circumference of the tyres so the difference could be coming from that area rather than from the gps unit
