SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

SOURCE: Brother MFC-465CN wont print

I had a similar problem, and it was due to the IP address not being properly set during installation. (Note, I installed it as a network printer. If you installed it as a USB printer, this won't work) Try this:

Select Start->Printers & Faxes, a window comes up, hopefully your Brother printer is one of the printers.

Right-click on the printer icon and select properties

Select the "Port" tab in the window that comes up

One of the entries should say "Standard TCP/IP Port". Click on that entry and click the "Configure Port..." button, a window will come up.

In the "Printer name or IP address" field, you may have a name here instead of an IP address. (Mine was "BRN008077E21669") Change this to the IP address for your printer. You can get this by navigating the menu on the printer (Under LAN->TCP/IP). I changed mine to 192.168.1.80, since that's the address I configured my printer for.

Hit OK and Apply in the open windows and hopefully you wil be in business. Good Luck!

SOURCE: Can't scan to PC with Brother MFC 8840D

My guess is a driver problem. I'm assuming you can print to it, so you know the USB connection is good. And you can make a copy (I assume), so you know the scanner mechanism and its connection with the rest of the machine works.
The scanner driver is separate from the printer driver. It's entirely possible to install and use the printer without having loaded the scanner driver. Best bet is to unplug the unit from your computer, then uninstall it completely from Windows. There may be an Uninstall program listed under Brother in your Start menu...All Programs... Or go to Start...Settings...Control Panel (or however your version of Windows get there) and open your Scanners and Cameras folder. If you find the Brother machine in there, Select it and click Remove. Do the same in the Printers folder.
Don't plug your machine back in until you have reinstalled the drivers. Go to www.brother-usa.com, and in the Service & Support box on the right, click Downloads. That will take you to a page where you'll select Multi-Function as your Product Group, then the model.
You'll get two lists of links. Forget Manuals, look at Drivers on the right.
Under Type of Software, click ALL. Select your OS.
You'll get a list of drivers and utilities for your model. Select the Full Package. Brother makes you accept the Terms of Use, then starts the download.
Look for Setup.exe in the main directory, or you may need to browse folders labeled with different language abbreviations to find it.
Start the installation, and don't plug your USB cable in until the computer tells you to. it will install the printer first, then return to install the scanner. It may require you to restart Windows more than once. Sorry.
Once you've suffered through all that it should be fine.

SOURCE: Brother MFC-7840W Printerwill only give me Scan To FTP option now

i had the same issue - was previously able to scan to a number of different formats, then switched modems, providers and then only the scan to ftp option came up.
took me about an hour to figure out the solution, but now it works
for windows users: * go to your control panel * go to the scanners & cameras section * your printer/scanner should show up here * right click on it and select 'properties' * select the network settings tab and then -- enter in the correct ip address here OR -- specify your machine by name (enter in name here)
hope this helps!

SOURCE: I dont know how to

Use the Scan to File feature from the ControlCenter

>Place the document to be scanned on the scanner glass (Flatbed) or Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) depending on the model of your Brother machine.
>Open the ControlCenter by clicking Windows/start-> (All) Programs ->Brother-> XXX-XXXX (Where XXX-XXXX is the model number of the machine)-> ControlCenterx.
jackpot00_23.gif
>Double-click on the ControlCenter icon located in the Task Tray to launch the program windows.
>On the SCAN menu, click the File button.
>The document will now scan and be saved into the specified location in PDF format, according to the setting you made in the Software Button tab of the Scan to File configuration window of the ControlCenter.

Use the Scan to File feature using the Scan key on the Brother machine

>Make sure that the ControlCenter has been launched and loaded in the Task Tray near the system clock.
>Place the document to be scanned on the scanner glass (Flatbed) or Automatic Document Feeder (ADF), depending on the model of your Brother machine.
>Press the Scan key on the Brother machine and select Scan to PC -> File, or Scan to File.
>Press OK.
>Press Start , Mono Start or Colour Start to begin the scanning. The document will now scan and be saved into the specified location in PDF format, according to the settings you made in Device Button tab of the Scan to File configuration window of the ControlCenter.

Hi i have a printer (brother MFC-235C). I changed

No there's no specific drivers for windows 7 either 32 bit or 64 bit, it'll automatically install the device with the default drivers.
details here

If there's a problem with your cartridge or cartridge ink level indicator, then you better clean the cartridge contact points and the contact points on the printer.
Good luck

Thanks for using FixYa.

I cant scan

You have to connect the mfc directly to a USB port of your computer. DO NOT use a hub.

The mfc uses the XP buil-in scan driver.

Did you install the whole mfl-pro suite? Use paperport to do scanning from your pc.
