Question about Vacuums

1 Answer

I just purchased a Hawaiian Breeze stand fan FS40-U3 from Walmart. The box seemed to be sealed, but there was no instructions for assembling it. We know what to do with all the parts except a large spring coil. Can't figure where it should go!

The coil goes at the base of the pole stand.. You slide it up through the bottom before you attach it to the the pedestal.

Need diagram to assemble the eureka airspeed model AS2000A

If you just bought it and it didn't come with instructions, you should return it and purchase from a store that will either assemble it or will give you the full package including instructions. Your local vac shop is a better choice. They sell better quality and will take care of you, unlike big box stores.

Dirt devil breeze bagless height adjustment mafunction

Hi there! If your vacuum is suddenly hard to push your roller lifter assembly, which controls the automatic height adjustment, may be damaged or broken. Check your roller lifter assembly located underneath your unit for damages. Also, your brushes help to maneuver through carpet, check that your brushes are still spinning. If not, replace the belt on your vacuum. I have included a link where you may visit to purchase a replacement belt for your vacuum. Hope this helps!

How to assemble the hawaiian breeze oscillating floor fan

I cannot find exact instructions but I did find a general guide to assembly. they are usually very easy to assemble.

A standing fan is a portable fan that has a set of three oscillating blades on a long neck. The neck, also called the pole or the leg, is mounted on the floor. Standing fans have evolved from their origins as noisy accessories that blew away papers in their vicinity to silent fans whose direction can be controlled remotely. When placed at a convenient location, a standing fan can distribute air evenly to the entire room. Its speed can be controlled, and many standing fans can be programmed to stop at a set time.

  1. Installation Requirements
    • The only requirement for installing a standing fan is making sure it is near a power source. The entire unit can be assembled manually with only a screwdriver. A single standing fan, either an oscillating or pedestal fan, is very simple to assemble for basic home use.
    Pole and Base
    • The first step is to lay the parts on a floor. Then assemble the pole on the base of the stand. This is very simple, because the grooves for the screws are already drilled, so the screws just need to be inserted and screwed in. Screwing the pole into the base of the fan is required on some models; on others, the pole and the base are molded together and no screws are needed.
    Motor and Fan Installation
    • One some fans, you have to install the motor and oscillating arm to the pole. This again is done by screwing screws into predrilled holes. Grooves for long screws are at the top end of the pole, where they attach to the motor of the fan. Once the motor is placed on the top of the pole, insert the screws in the predrilled holes and tighten the screws. The next step is to wire the three blades. This is done by taking the wires from the motor and joining them to the sockets in the pole. This finishes the assembly procedure.
To turn the fan on, ensure that the wires fit securely together. A loose connection cannot not only hamper the performance of the fan, it can also lead to problems such as electrical shocks or burning wires.

I hope this helps

good luck

You are still in the warrranty period of one year and it is most adviceable not to tamper it so as to lose the priviledge.
So please get in touch immediatley with your dealer.
Only If there is no help do you need to open the base and check the leads from plug to the motor for continuity. if voltage is present then motor may be faulty.

I need a manuel to replace a broken fan on my g4 kriby

Hello,

We have actually recorded a very informative do it your self video on how to replace the fan on a Kirby Generation upright.

The video is a two part video, but this explains step by step how to remove the old fan, and put the new one on.

If you need to purchase a new fan assembly, here's a link to the Fan assembly for your Kirby G4. Unfortunately you may only purchase them as a complete assembly:
Genuine Kirby Vacuum Fan. Kirby Part # 119096S

Here's the videos showing how to replace the fan:

Part 1:

Part 2:

Hopefully this helps you with your problem! If this did help, please be so kind and rate the repair, or leave feedback for me. This is very appreciated by the Fixya community when someone is able to answer your question, and assures that experts continue to answer free questions, instead of just the premium paid questions.

Thanks again!

Th end of the shaft that come from the motor is worn out, and won't hold the belt well. How do I change it?

Hello,

Thanks for the clarification. I have never seen this problem previously in a Kirby. I wonder if the belt keeps sliding off because it's been stretched out? After about 1-2 years, the belts on the Kirby will stretch out to a point where there can possibly slide off the motor shaft. Have you tried just replacing the belt on the unit first?

If you're sure that it's not the belt that may be stretched out, and you'd like to replace the motor shaft, you certainly may do this. The only problem with this is the motor shaft is not sold by itself as a separate part. The only way to purchase this motor shaft is to purchase the entire fan assembly, which includes a new fan, and the hardware necessary on the fan assembly.

Here's a parts diagram that shows you the motor shaft is sold only in a completely assembly:
http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/vacuumcleanerbacgs/kirby-generation-parts-diagram.pdf

If you haven't already purchased the motor shaft, here's a direct link to the motor shaft and fan assembly on our website:
Kirby Generation Fan Assembly With Motor Shaft and Hardware

In terms of installing it, we've actually recorded a video repair on how to replace the fan assembly, which involves removing the motor shaft in order to get the fan off. Since you have to purchase the fan assembly anyways in order get the motor shaft, you may want to go ahead and replace your fan assembly at this time also. Even though your fan may not be broken, on Kirby's the fans can become coated with dirt and fine dust, which can sometimes lead to the Kirby exhausting a bad smell. If you'd rather not replace the fan, you may remove the motor shaft without disassembling the entire machine, you'll just need to secure the fan somehow so that the fan doesn't spin while you're using a nail to turn the motor shaft off.

Anyways, here's the video repair that we recorded. I hope that this helps you. If you found this helpful, please kindly rate my repair helpful by clicking the thumbs up icons in the top right hand corner of the repair.
