If not usb ports or the plug itself

Seems to me va power problem if you have a lot of other usb components running then you will need auxillary power, you have two choices really, the aformentioned USB card and fit to your MB
Or purchase teh Saitek power supply, and power the yoke direct.
I had the same problem and solved it by removing one of the usb devices form the yoke and putting it a usb slot on the rear of the computer. Mind you I have all the saitek panels as well.
