Yes it work...but assume there is a problem or error comes when you tried to replace lower value.
the best way you do is to replace with the same value or nearer value like 1000uf/25v

No! it will get you into trouble, stick with the value called for but you can up the voltage rating if desired.

Can you use a 470uf 25v in place of a 330uf 25v

Usually not, The values are to far out of tolerance. You can go higher on the voltage part but not on the capacitance value. When rebuilding the power supplies you also need to be sure you are using the correct ratings on the capacitors in terms of ESR, Temp and Ripple current. Here is a link to a page that explains about capacitors and which ones to use for switching power supplies like in monitors.

I hope this helps.

Tip

Regarding your advice: "My advice: replace capacitors with higher voltage, like...

The most common problems on Samsung LCD monitor/TV:
  • The power can not turn on, the red light flashing
  • the monitor on for a while and then turn off, then the red light flashing.
This is due to the weakening of the capacitor in the power supply module.
let's go hunting for bad capacitor.

I will explain how to:

  • Open the case of the LCD
basically in all LCD monitors have two circuit boards (power supply board and system board)
  • After you open you will see the two boards are
  • You see a board that has a socket for the power source. wrote that the board we're looking for (power supply board)
  • Remove all cables connected to the board and take out the board. (get noted before you unplug it)
  • Now you see it components on board, we looking for capacitor.(see picture below)
8644481.jpg
  • Looking for damaged capacitors, physically you will see a capacitor on the top like a bloated (see picture below)
a1611e3.jpg
  • Replace the damaged capacitor with the same value that you can see on the surface of the capacitor. (In this step you need any soldering tool)
My advice: replace capacitors with higher voltage, like 10V replace with 16V or 25V will be fine.

Have a Nice Repair :)

I needed to replace 2 of my 820mf 25volt capacitors in my Samsung LCD TV. Problem is that I cant find these capacitors anywhere. I did found 820uf instead of 820mf. Are they the same capacitors and would I...

uf is for micro farad.
we have the same problem.
my 820uf/25v in my monitor need to replace but i didn't know where to buy this capacitor, so i try to replace it 1000uf/25v
and the result is OK. my monitor is working again. as good as brand new.
you can replace 820uf/25v by 1000uf/25v because they have a 20%tolerance...

Blow capacitor 820uF 25v? to replace 1000uF 25V other capacitor?

It is probably OK, possibly a filtering capacitor, besides no one makes a 820uF any more.

Hi I need to replace 3 x blown capacitors for my LCD monitor. They are 820uf 25v. Do they have to be an exact match ie ceremic/tolorences?

They can be 1000uf 25v (20% higher value is OK), higher voltage is also OK but it may not fit the board. The temperature rating must be 105c and Low ESR type which is very important for switching power supply. You should replace them in a set.
You can get the PANASONIC FM or FC series from DIGIKEY, or from Capacitors kit: http://lcdalternatives.auctivacommerce.com/ he can make you a set of caps for you.

Blow capacitor 820uF 25v? where can i buy them? or how to replace them with other capacitor?

You can buy that to an electronics store near your area. Replace that with same value or if you have higher than 25 volts use it provided that it is same as 820 microfarad.

I have three blown capacitors. they say 820uf 25v. they all solder to the same part on the board. is it necessary to have three of the caps at 820uf 25v. or can they be added up like 820+820+820=2460uf 25v

Hello,

You need to have the 3 capacitors. There is not a 2460uf capacitor, If one of the 3 fail then the other two will still work, if you have just one capacitor and it fails then you have a dead power supply with the first failure.

Sounds like it could be a weak capacitor. Caps that are bad or weak will work after they warm up.
