Revs of the car go up but the speed doesn't increase at all,

The most obvious cause to this fault would be the clutch slipping then suddenly gripping and away it goes. Now are there any cluncking noises or is there any strong smell when this fault occurs. If there is a strong smell the chances are you will require a new clutch. If there is no smell it could be clutch release bearing, either way gearbox will have to come out.If there is any loud clunking noise, possible drive shaft, but this is unlikely. the problem needs to be diagnosed by a mechanic.Always ask for quotes 1st,If a clutch is required be prepaired for possible damaged flywheel.

Loud high pitch feedback when audio plays

I can only think of tree possibilities:

1. Feedback created by a dry join on a circuit board
2. Feedback from a cooling fan that has malfunctioned
3. Feedback from a microphone that has malfunctioned

I would try disabling or fiddling with the settings on the microphone first, if that's the problem, I recommend you disable it and if you use a microphone regularly, the external alternative is quite a cheap way of replacing it, if its a cooling fan, and you have the knowledge to disassemble the laptop, try disconnecting it for a short time, if the feedback stops when you disconnect the fan, you need only replace the fan, if these two methods don't solve the problem, I would recommend you have a professional look at it for you, dry joins are quite hard to find and require special equipment to fix, and if that's not the issue, the professional should be able to find the problem anyway.

Good luck

Samsung dlp tv HLP5663W makes loud noise

Yes, the set uses a color wheel and the lamp faces it.

The wheel turns at over 8,000 rpm and is well known for this problem=bearings in the tiny motor go bad.

The high pitched or fan like noise (classic description) is this part.

Sooner or later the wheel (plastic colored segments) will shatter and set will shut down lamp and not operate---set monitors the speed of the wheel so if it slows down or stops it knows.

The part is readily available on the internet (Google the model number with "color wheel").

This can be a do it yourself repair and You Tube has video instructions for replacing the wheel by model number.

There are two common pitfalls to avoid which the instructions that come with the replacement part usually do not mention---if you decide to do this repair let me know and I will explain.

When we first start the unit, it has gotten quite a loud whirring sound. We turn it off, then turn it back on and the noise virtually disappears - it's still there, but greatly diminished. I suspect...

that is the fan on start-up and the high pitch is the power supply components heating up make shure that the main fan is working always it will be slow at low volume if it quits you run the risk of the power supply failing

When we start our dryer it makes a loud noise as if it struggles to get the drum moving. Once the dryer is moving it has no trouble moving, but every time we start it, the noise happens again even if i was...

Is this noise like a loud buzz or hum? If it is it may be the motor draging
and can't quite get going. bearing getting worn.
Also check drum rollers or glides and the idler pully one of them may
be dragging if they are you might put a little high temp oil on it.
Hope this helps..

The DV10 has a futuristic-looking outer casing and two internal speakers located behind a silver grille mesh at the rear. Heat is removed through its side ventilation and the internal fan has a noise level of 27dB, which is comparable to a loud computer and quite distracting when watching movies at low volume. At 368 x 117 x 273mm, the unit is small enough to permanently and inconspicuously reside on a coffee table.

this is from a review .

it sounds like that the fan needs to be cleaned the sound you hear is normal but if it sounds like its racein the moder might be on its way out if you have a can of air used to clean a key bored i would try to clean it out with that if not take it to a repair place to see if they could look at the moder

You should call for warranty service. If the set is very new try to get it exchanged.

There are some very heavy duty power supplies and many high power matrix drivers used in Plasma sets.

The description sounds like the noises are very loud. It is normal with any of these TV sets, if you put your ear right up to the back of the set at the vent holes you will hear some noises. These would be some acoustic harmonics from the power supplies and related circuits.

I am wondering if it is possible that there is something that is becoming less stable. If the set is working very well without any failure, so-far this is a very good sign. Before it gets to be a problem, I would have this checked.

On many models of these sets, they use fans for cooling specific areas. A bad fan can cause noise.
