When a phone is liquid damage especially salt water, coffee and soft drinks then very likely it will not work properly especially the screen as the liquid sips through the edges of the screen

you didn't really answer my question.why did it work after it sat in the rice for 24 hours..there was nothing on the screen, but i could call out..but now it is completely dead.the only thing i doid was put it on charger for a minute..did that cause irreversible damage or is there a way i could get it to work

that's what i mean its not always going to work
it might work for 1 day an hour a week but it will always cause problems
the screen didn't work because im guessing the coffee was tipped on the screen and it went through the edges and wrecked the screen connector from inside
what you can do is open it and spray some alcohol from a cigarette lighter or you can by a can from any electronics store to evaporate any liquid in there

Hi folks :) My daughter dropped her samsung ace in water and quickly pulled in out. We put it in a bag of rice and the phone powers up and the screen looks fine except the screen won't respond to any...

remove cover and the battery, put it back in the rice for another 24 hours,
then watch the youtube vid's on "how to change the screen, of course you are not going to do that, but you are going to almost do that,,,, remove the guts up to the point that you unplug the screen and the digitizer, then plug them back together and take them apart again and again in attempt to remove the dried water deposits from them, when done put the phone back together and use it normally
you can also plug in the charger and unplug it several times to clean water deposits from the port and try to connect it to the computer again,,,,

I recently jumped into a pool with my cell phone in my pocket (SAMSUNG Reality). I realized it 10 minues or so after. Dried the phone. A day later, the phone will turn on when connected to charger...

When phone gets wet NEVER try to turn it on. Take battery out right away shake water off and put both in bowl of rice for at least 24 hrs. If your not home or don't have rice right away take battery out and get some. We have a bowl of rice on the counter all summer long for those who jump in the pool with phone in their pocket. I have washed them dropped them in the toilet my son jumped in pool with his phone, put it rice for 24 hrs and we were up and running with the exception of the one in the pool, that one cost me new battery on Ebay ($4.95) but phone worked fine, didn't even lose contacts or pictures. But the key is to NOT try to turn it on after its been wet. Water and batteries don't mix.

My phone fell in the toilet and now all of my buttons do the wrong function

Take your battery out, and put your phone in a bowl of rice right away when this happens. The rice soaks up all that water. Leave in rice for about 24 hours. Never turn it on and start using it right after the liquid, because it is electronic it will more than likely act strange or stop working altogether.

Screen doesnt work

if you have a screwdriver, you can open the phone up and check if it is still dry or wet and also look to see if there are any burnout marks (greeny-blue or white).air it for an hour or few and put it back together. try again. is it pos 5 or pos 6 bit. or is it tork 5 or 6, at jay=car or dicks or bunnings if you don't need advice on it.

Wet phone has black screen

You took all the right steps, including the rice. Unfortunately, even the rice method doesn't always catch the moisture before it does it's damage. The next step is to take the phone back to the store where you purchased it and have them see if it is salvageable. The other thing to check is where you stand with your contract. You may be able to replace the phone by extending your contract. good luck.

Washed my samsung wafer cell phone. will replacing battery make it work again

Most likely you will need to do more than that, as there will be condensation and moisture trapped inside your phone. Moisture + electronic circuits = bad news. Try this... it sounds really wacky but it often works: put your phone in a box full of uncooked rice, completely covering the phone on all sides. Leave it in the rice for a good 12-24 hours. Rice wicks away the moisture inside sensitive electronics. After 12-24 hours, turn it on and see what happens. Good luck!
