Question about Texas Instruments TI-84 Plus Calculator

Open Question

The buttons on my TI-84 plus are not working except for the ON button. I got a new set of batteries but it still says"Your batteries are low. Recommend change of batteries." when I turn it on, when I press ON again to get rid of the message it shows a blinking square in the top left corner, afterwards, I can only wait for it to turn off or remove the batteries.

SOURCE: error message for TI-84 Plus

Try and resolve this issue by re-installing the calculator's operating system using the TI OS Downloader. To do this, please follow the steps listed below. Be sure you have fresh batteries in your calculator.

1. Download the OS 2.43 file to your computer (preferably the desktop).

2. Open the TI OS Downloader by going to Start>>Programs>>TI Tools>>TI Connect>>TI OS Downloader. If you do not see TI OS Downloader, you may need to install the latest version of TI Connect. You can download a free copy from:
www.education.ti.com/downloadticonnect

3. From the main screen, select your calculator and cable type. Click "Next" to continue.

4. From this screen, locate the OS 2.43 file by clicking on the yellow browse folder and navigating to the location where you downloaded it. Double-click the OS 2.43 file to select it.

5. Remove one triple A battery from your TI-84 Plus. With the battery removed, press and hold the [DEL] key while you re-insert the battery.

6. You should see a "Waiting..." message on the screen of your calculator. If so, disconnect the USB cable from your computer, re-connect it and then click "Start Download". This should begin the OS transfer process.

SOURCE: Find the antilog on the TI-84 Plus for finding pH in chemistry problems

I'm not specifically familiar with the TI83 or TI84 but I've used a lot of TI calculators in my time, so I'll give it a try. If your trying to find the antilog of a number in base 10 enter the number and hit the (10 to the X) button. If you're trying to find the antilog of a number in in base e (natural log), enter the number and hit the (e to the X) button.

My TI-84 calculator isn't working. When I press the "ON" button, sometimes it would respond, but most of the time it doesn't. The screen just remains blank. I've changed my batteries...

try taking out the triple A batteries and leaving the calculator to sit with them out for a minute or so, replace them and check if it's fixed. If that doesn't work you can do the same, but take out the small button back up battery as well. If you're still not having luck you should call ti cares (800-842-2737) they're usually helpful.

If Texas Instruments TI-84 Plus Calculator hangs on screen "RAM CLEARED" , what should I do?

You should try a few different things:

1) Press the Clear button
2) Press the On Button
3) Remove and replace the batteries

If the final step does not work, you should also remove the backup battery. This is located UNDER the AA batteries. You will need a small screwdriver to remove the cover. Replace everything and turn the calculator back on.

My TI-84 Plus Silver Edition stopped working

That actually is a result of water damage. You probably need to replace it, or see about getting it taken apart and dried if the water damage was recent. DO NOT take it apart yourself. Go somewhere and ask if that is possible.

TI-84 Plus with water damage

I had the same problem but its best to first just dry it out and with a hair drier at low. Forget about openning it up i couldn't get mine open either. Let it sit for a day and then take the batteries out and press the on button for 30 sec. then take new batteries and put them in and it should work.
