SOURCE: Shredder motor seems jammed
The teeth on the plastic gear that turns the massive metal gears that turn the shredder teeth is probably stripped and needs to be replaced, if you can find the part.

It sounds like the safety switch on the door has failed.
You will need to have the safety switch on the door replaced.
There is another option but it is not recommended as it will bypass the doors safety mechanism and requires the switch wires to be cut and connected to complete the circuit.
You should never play with anything electrical as it can cause serious harm and / or death.
So I would recommend you have a qualified repairer look at it.
I hope this helps.
If you have any further questions please let me know.

Testimonial: "Thanks. I'll just replace the whole unit."
SOURCE: I have an OfficeMax paper
Do you have any lights? If not then you will need to replace a blown fuse on the circuit board. The fuse is soldered into the circuit board. Check the fuse with an OHM meter for continuity. The fuse is 6.3 A miniature pigtail, You have to solder in a fuse holder and regular size fuse unless you have a source for the pigtails. If you have lights and can hear a motor then chances are, the overfeed caused the teeth of the gear that operates off of the motor to break which is not uncommon. How old is the shredder, is it possible to return it under warranty? Have you made sure that all the paper is out of the teeth and not blocking the sensor? sometimes it can get quite hard to remove all the jammed paper. You will have to take the cover off the shredder hear to acces the circuit board, might get lucky and find this model ahs an easy change fuse but most do not. Also have you checked it with another outlet to make sure the outlet fuse did not blow?
Pigtail fuses should look like the ones in the picture provided.

Shut off the shredder. Unplug it and let in cool down for up to one hour. This will work if the shredder has stopped due to excessive use.
Check to see if the shredder is jammed. This is the most common cause of shredder problems. Click the power switch to reverse, which should clear a minor jam. If not, set the shredder to auto, and then to reverse again until the jam clears.
Clear extremely stubborn paper jams by grabbing the stuck paper and gently pulling it out. If smaller pieces of paper cause the jam, shut off the shredder and unplug it. When it cools down, carefully use a pair of tweezers to remove the paper bits.
Determine if the power supply to the shredder is working properly. If the power supply is cold, use an alternative source of electricity for your shredder. If it is warm, there may be a problem with the shredder itself. Call your office machine repair shop or the shredder manufacturer for assistance.
Sharpen or oil the blades. Shredder blades need to be oiled on a regular basis to keep your machine in proper working order. Get oil made specifically for shredder blades from an office supply store.
