With the 600 watt ML series, there are two sets of a-b-c terminals. C terminals are used with photo eye.
Connect 300 watts of bulbs to one set a-b terminals, connect 300 watts to other set of a-b terminals.
I'm not sure what is inside the power pack. However if you run less than or more than 600 watts or let your bulbs burn out for any length of time, the power pack can burn out. Save your receipt for limited 5-year warranty.

Loud huming from my 300v low voltage lighting transformer

Transformers make humming sound.
ML300 series transformers make sound.
Used styrafoam to separate transformer from contact with building so sound is not carried.
These transformers have 10 year limited warranty.

Two things, what size and thread screws on the wire connections and are there separate on off cycles for each 300 watt unit if so how do you set them separately \

ML series power pack has 2 sets of A-B-C terminals.

I do not think that you can purchase a switch, if so the only one that would sell it would be Malibu. I would try on line to them direct as one last try before having to purchase a new timer. The amount of lamps that you have on this clock is not to many, you just need to add the total wattage of all lamps on transformer and as long as you do not exceed the rating (in your case 300 watts) you will be fine.

Yes, using a larger wire will help, as will using more than one run. If you want too, you can leave the 16 gauge wire in place, then run the new 12 gauge wire and transfer most of the lights to the new run.

The fewer lights on a run, the less dimming will occur, so put more lights on the 12 gauge run.

Also, the longer the run, the more dimming will occur.
You may want to reconsider the location of the transformer, if possible. In your case, it would be better to locate the transformer in the middle of the current run, and just split the run in half to make a run in each direction. Of course, that depends if you have a 120 volt outlet available in that area.
