Question about Hayward 150FDN Universal Series Low Nox Gas Heater 150000 BTU ()

Open Question

I opened my pool this spring and my heater (Hayward 150FDN) is working, but I can't adjust temp up or down on the key pad. It's stuck on 95 degrees. I let pool heat to 82 and then turn off heater. I tried disconnecting power to see if will reset, but no change. Do I need a new key pad or is there a way to reset?

SOURCE: 1 year old hayward h1001d pool heater clicking

Actually, the clicking is likely causing the shaking. Inside the manifold of a H100 is a stainless steel diverter plate that send some of the passing water into the heat exchanger and lets the rest past and back to the pool. When it breaks, you will hear a 'clicking' noise at it rattles in the water path. When it breaks, the flow to the heat exchanger is intermittent and you will begin to boil the water, causing the shaking. This situation is dangerous, especially without a pressure relief in the heater or pipe. As long as your water chemistry is sound, Hayward will usually cover this under warranty even if the unit is over a year old. SOURCE: I can't turn off the unit without shutting off the

You are probally having a problem with your pressure switch in the heater. This is located in the cabnet on the left side about half wau up just above the burner tray. It will have a ferrel nut on the back you can unscrew to get it off the copper tube it is attached to. Do this with the breaker off and once it is removed from the tube start the pump for a second and see if you have a freeflo of water from tube. If you do you need to ck the pre sw by replaceing the unit on the tube and removing one of the wires to it. If this solves the problem you probally need to replace the switch. If you don't get water flo through the tube you will need to follow the tube to where it hooks to the manifold and remove it there and clear the hole it goes into and the tube it self. This is a rare occurence on these heaters as they have plastic headers. My bet is you will find the pressure switch has gone bad. Good lucl I hope this has helped.

SOURCE: Navigator Pool Cleaner: My Hayward pool cleaner just goes in small circles...

Check all of the following. Ones of these issues is probably causing your pool cleaner to go in circles. Let me know if these soultions don't work and I will be glad to offer more solutions, but I a think one of these might solve your problem:

1. You might not have proper water flow. Too much or too little pressure will cause this to happen. Check the pressure with your flow gauge and adjust if necessary.

2. Check for a partial blockage of the navigator throat. If you have a blockage, it could disrupt the movement of your cleaner. Clear blockage if necessary.

3. Check the shoes and wings. Damage or wear to them can disrupt your patterns of cleaning. If you notice that your shoes or wings are worn, replace them to correct the problem.

4. Check to make sure that your hose is not twisted. It should be clear of kinks, twists, and knots. Untangle if necessary. Laying the hose out in the sun will make it more pliable and easier to untangle if you need to do this.

5. Other things that could cause steering issues: check and clean the rear screen, check to see that the cone gear is is free and rotates smoothly, clean/replace/repair gear box, check pod connection, and check turbine and spindle assembly.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you need clarification or additional help!

Where is the pressure switch adjustment knob on Hayward h200fd?

if you have an universal pressure switch there is no adjustment. down turning the set point is a poor idea. this can allow the heater to run while the pool pump is only running at half prime or with less water flow. possible over temp situation can easily occur

Hayward H400FD pool/spa heater indicating 'LO' in the key pad

Additional info...
"LO" is simply informing you that the Heater is not sensing proper water flow through it! A Flow Problem.
A special sensor, called a pressure switch is this source. But... That does not mean it is bad - No, it is in most cases just doing its job!
Most common reason - Dirty Filter.
A good cleaning of the cartridges, or maybe a breakdown and recharge of a DE Filter, or a good cleansing backwash of your sand filter, will remedy this situation.
Or... Check for any OTHER reason or situations water flow may be reduced through the heater:
  • enough water in pool or spa?
  • If you have a weir gate in skimmer, is it stuck in the UP position?
  • Are any valves closed?
  • Do you have a bypass valve at the heater?
    • If open, this will reduce the amount of water going thru heater, close it to the point, LO goes away.
  • Could be debris in front of Pressure Switch, in the copper tubing
    • Unscrew and remove pressure switch, turn pump on. But first, align end of tube so that when water squirts out it will shoot out from heater and not onto electronic heater components!
  • If all above is good, you may have failed pressure switch?
  • Etc
Good Luck - hope this helped.

My hayward pool heater gives me a code sb what part is this

Possibly failed keypad, or stuck key on keypad.
This product should be under full warranty, and installer should be called.
Hayward 350 product manual: Error codes start page 38 do not show Sb
http://www.hayward-pool.com/pdf/manuals/Manual285.pdf
However Sb error code shows on following manual as 'Keypad failure' or 'stuck key'... one of the keys is stuck longer than 30 seconds, but control will still function, replace keypad.

Check the disc and shaft on the by-pass, then check to see if you have an external by-pass and be sure it is closed if you have one, then adjust it open a small amount.

The temperature buttons on my hayward 400IDL heater stopped working. I can turn the modes between pool, spa and standby but the buttons for raising and lowering the temp. arent working. no codes are coming...

You most likely need a new touch pad and they are almost impossible to troubleshoot. If everything else works except "button A" then button A is bad and in this case that means the whole thing is bad. Sorry...

There is a thermistor temperature sensor beside the inlet union on the heater that goes bad, it looks line a stainless steel nut with wires on it. You can unthread to replace it and it plugs into the board behind the display. The LO means low pressure probably caused by pressure switch adjustment.
