Question about Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000.C HDS721010CLA332 - Hard drive - 1 TB - internal - 3.5" - SATA-300 - 7200 rp... SATA II

1 Answer

One of my 7K1000.C drives has extensive but minor corruption. I use QuickPar to make parity files in case of such corruption but I was quite upset to find 90% of my mp3s were damaged. Those which I had protected with 25% parity files all were fixed easily as the corruption seemed to be about 10% (2 out of 19 blocks damaged on average). I've not heard or read of anyone else having this problem with this drive. It affected many files other than mp3s. Any ideas why this happened and what to do to keep it from happening again?

The best way to fix & prevent it would be to move everything off of it and wipe the drive clean and do a full format, not a quick format. The other thing could be, depending on what type of system you have and if its overclocked it can cause data corruption if the Pcie frequency is set above ~110. I have three of these without a single problem, with about 8,200, 8,080, and 5,400 hours on them.

Error messages are quite common while working with MS Outlook email client. This error appears in case if the Outlook profile is corrupted or Outlook folders are moved across drives. For resolving this issue i can recommend this app

Frozen email on a mac

Using Force Quit Force Quit is the Mac's common way of telling an iced application "I've had it; I'm not going to take it anymore!" Choose Mac menu --> Force Quit or press Command+Option+Esc. A window appears, and you can click the name of the deviant application (not responding probably appears next to its name). With Force Quit, you typically don't have to reboot your computer.
Because you will lose any unsaved changes, Apple throws up a little admonition before allowing you to Force Quit. Alas, you may have no choice.
Dealing with a program that quits on you Sometimes, for unknown reasons, a program keels over. You could reopen the app and hope that this was a one-time aberration caused by mischievous space aliens. Or, you might have a chronic ailment on your hands.
When programs suddenly drop, you may see dialog boxes with the word unexpectedly, like the ones shown in Figure 1. The box on the left appears the first time you experience this issue; the box at the right shows what happens if the problem persists. If so, you may want to click Try Again to safely relaunch the fussy program. OS X restores the application's default settings (thus setting aside newer preferences settings), in case something you did caused the snafu.
>

Figure 1: When an application unexpectedly quits . . . and quits again.
Assuming that everything went swell from there, you'll be given the option of keeping the new settings upon quitting the program. Your old preferences are saved in a file with a .saved extension, in case you ever want to go back. If that is the case, move the newer and current preferences file from its present location and remove the .saved extension from the older file.
If the problem continues, it may be time to visit the library. (No, not that kind of library.) A Preferences folder lives inside your Library folder, which in turn resides in your Home folder.
These preferences files have the .plistsuffix and typically begin with com.followed by the name of the program, as in com.microsoft.Word.plist. Try dragging a .plist file with the name of the troubled application out to the desktop. If the program runs smoothly, trash the corrupted preferences file.
Forcing a restart Force Quit usually rescues you from a minor problem, but it's not effective all the time. If that's the situation you're in now, you'll likely have to reboot. The assumption here is that your frozen computer won't permit you to start over in a conventional way by choosing Mac menu --> Restart.
Instead, try holding down the power button for several seconds or press Control+Command and then the power button. If all else fails, pull the plug (or remove the battery from a laptop), though only as a last resort.

Edge diskgo

Perhaps if the HDD has not been damaged. HDD's can be very delicate , external HDD's can get bumped about at times, rendering them useless. Remove the HDD from the case, using a USB to IDE/SATA Adapter ,or, a computer shop, try to test/read the disk. It can be read, but I'm not sure you want to pay the price it may cost. It can be quite expensive, and requires specialized equipment.

When i save a movie it can't open?why

Try copying the file to a location like the desktop, and see if you can open it there.
If not, your computer doesn't know how to open it. (Right Click --> Open With... --> Choose program to play movie)

If that fails again, the file is corrupted. This would be caused by not Safely Ejecting the Drive from the computer, this can cause some computers to get upset because the file is only half-completed.

1st case - may be the zip file is corrupted with some virus or it was not properly downloaded means stop in the middle. so start from the
beginning.

2nd case - it was not the (.zip) file it may be (.rar) file . So change the extension to (.rar).

Cannot install yahoo toolbar on firefox.....

this error message can be caused by either:
  • corrupted configuration files on your computer.
  • security software, which may be preventing these files from being updated
try this

Corrupt extension configuration files can cause problems when trying to install an extension. Deleting these files will make Firefox recreate them (removing any corruption) the next time it starts. You won't lose your extensions or their settings by deleting these files.
  1. From the menu at the top of the Firefox windowbar, select FileFirefox and then select the ExitQuit FirefoxQuit menu item.
  2. Go to your profile folder.
  3. Delete the following files:
    • extensions.ini
    • extensions.cache
    • extensions.rdf
  4. Restart Firefox.

I dont think so, no. The transmission in the 4.0 L is a standalone tranny made by Ford. I BELIEVE that the 3.0 L engine uses the same transmission that is used in the Ford Ranger.
