Question about Voigtlander Heliar 15mm f/4.5 Wide Angle Lens

1 Answer

I have a Bessa R2A with L39 adapter. When I screw on the 15mm lens it will not mount correctly (the lens mounts askew with the numbers on the top of the lens tilted aprox 45 degrees). The camera will meter with the lens on but the lens will not focus. I also have a Jupiter 50mm that mounts meters and focuses with no problem

"I also purchased a Fotodiox Lens Mount Adapter, Tamron Adaptall II Lens to Nikon Camera. The Tamron lens still will not fit

What mount do you have on the Tamron lens? (The built-in mount.) If it has a Nikon mount, you don't need an adapter at all. If it has the Adaptall mount then the adapter should fit onto the back of the lens, then the combo should fit onto your Nikon camera. If the lens has a different mount then nothing you can do will make it fit.

Does the adapter fit onto the lens?

Lens mount fit

None directly. The T90 was the last Canon camera to use the older FD lenses. All newer Canon SLRs, film and digital, use the EF mount. However, by using an adapter such as http://www.rakuten.com/prod/adorama-canon-fd-lens-to-eos-body-adapter-with-correction-glass/216466533.html?listingId=120668308, you can use the old lenses on any Canon digital SLR.

How to mount 67mm thread lens to t4i body only canon

One side of the reverse adapter has a 67mm thread, the other side has a lens mount. Mount it to the camera body as if it were a lens. Bear in mind that it's intended to screw onto the front of a lens and then mounted onto a camera to put the lens onto the camera in a "backward" position.

What's your pwill Tamron AF 1780 Lens 80mm - 210 work on a sony 200A dslrmmroblem?

you need a proper t2 adapter. when you remove the m42 adaptor on tair lens, you can attach the proper t2 to nikon adaptor on it. check my tair 300 photo. it has "t2 to m42" adapter on it. please be sure that find the correct adapter. i bought several adapters to find the correct one. one of them was different than t2 adapter but looking alike and sold as t2 by seller. it is hard to find the correct adapter. i guess there are variants of that standard(which is odd).

Vivitar screw mount lens, Nikon D-80 camera. Is there an adapter for this?

The M42 mount was used by several camera manufacturers, most notably Pentax. Nikon is not one of them.
Vivitar made many lenses with a T-mount. This consists of a screw mount on the lens and a suitable adapter, depending on the camera body. This allows a lens to be used with different cameras simply by changing the adapter.
If your lenses are T-mount, then yes, there are adapters available. One source is here.
Be aware that you'll probably lose any metering capability when using any lens with this adapter. You'll have to use a separate light meter or else view the resulting picture on the display and adjust the exposure appropriately.

I HAVE AN OLD PENTAX ME SUPER 35MM CAMERA AND HAVE BEEN GIVEN A HANIMEX AUTO ZOOM F/80-200MM LENS BUT NEED AN ADAPTER RING TO FIT BOTH TOGETHER.COULD YOU PLEASE TELL ME WHICH ADAPTER I NEED AND IF POSS...

You don't need an adapter ring, you simply need the correct lens. Like many aftermarket lenses, the Hanimex was made in a number of different versions to fit many different camera mounting systems.

Your camera accepts lenses with a Pentax K bayonet mounting, so the fix is to sell your lens (it's not worth very much though) and buy another which also shouldn't cost very much. You can even get them for free simply by asking on FreeCycle, it's where virtually all of my film camera equipment has come from.

It *might* be possible to get an adapter, but it depends entirely upon which mount the Hanimex currently has (you didn't say, and it's not always obvious just by looking at the lens), and very few can be adapted to a K mount. Those that do will lose automatic aperture coupling, making the lens and camera rather awkward to use, and the coupling will likely cost more than another similar lens in the same zoom range.

I suggest the starting point is to contact the vendor where you purchased the lens. They should have the adapter you need. My question is, shouldn't the adapter have been included with the lens? Generally, lenses made to adapt to several camera brands include the correct adapter as specified by the buyer for a specific camera brand or for those that use T-mount.

Where can i buy a Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DL Macro AF Lens mount adapter for a canonEOS 500D

You can't, not as far as I know.

Getting functionally useful adaptors from any other brand to Canon EOS is difficult as the register distance from the sensor to the lens is the deepest of all current lens mounts. Adaptors therefore require expensive optical correction in order to preserve infinity focus ability and given that the adapted lens will still be substantially crippled most owners aren't prepared to pay for such an adaptor. In any case, the additional optical elements will reduce optical quality.

Due to similar electronics, it is possible to physically convert a Sigma mount lens to EOS by fitting an EOS lens bayonet but it's a skilled job requiring fabrication skills and even then there's no guarantee that the lens will communicate correctly with all EOS bodies. In practice, due to the scarcity of Sigma mount lenses the conversion is usually the other way around.

I have been offered a SiGMA 400mm F/5.6 manual lens for a minolta mount. Will it fit my camera? Cheers Pete

Minolta had two lens mounts. One for manual focus SLR film cameras and one for Auto Focus SLR Maxxum film and digital SLR cameras. Sony uses Minolta Maxxum lens mount.
If the Sigma 400 f5.6 lens was made for Minolta X-700 series, XG, series, XD series, SRT series, then it will not fit on your camera.

I have a quantaray 500 f8/1000 f16 lens i inherited from a relitive and i'm un sure on how to mount it with out the 1000mm converter

Although I'm unfamiliar with the lens which you have, many generic mirror lenses like yours use a T-mount adapter which screws onto the lens to provide a suitable mounting for your camera body.

Check the converter, it probably has the T-mount screwed onto it.
