Bought this grill in june/july. first tank worked perfect. tank went out while cooking. changed to new tank and lit her up. low flame and went out. looked at tank and found the valve and hose covered...

turn off gas at tank remove hose let it deforst , open all burners on bbq run out gas in line , turn off burners, reconnect tank turn on slow , check hose for leaks with washing up liqued and water mix make bubbles with this mix and brush over joints this will prove if you have a gas leak (hence the frosting ) if this is good no leak then you should be able to light burners , if this leaks then it could be a new hose.

I have just purchased a little portable gas grill. Do I unscrew the Coleman Propane Fuel cannister when I am finished cooking or leave it attache? It seemed that my first tank didn't go very far.

To be safe, Yes. Be sure to turn the canister tank is turned OFF before removing it. Also, be sure that when you reattach it, that you open the gas tank valve Very, Very Slowly (Slow Motion, slow). This will prevent the regulator from getting locked up.

Hope this helped and Happy Grilling!!

We just used the grill the other night went out to cook tonight will not ignite ....I can hear the gas so that is not it ...any suggestions? I am newby at all this but have been doing fine .....

Are you saying the ignitor won't light the burner(s), but you can hear gas going thru the burners?
If that's the case, try match lighting the burners. That's a good way to find out if you are really getting enough gas for combustion.

If after match lighting it, you find that burner flames remain low, even when they're turned to High. Here's what you need to do:

1. Turn the gas tank valve OFF.
2. Disconnect the hose from the tank and wait 5 minutes.
3. Reconnect the hose to the tank and open the tank valve VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow Motion,
4. Once the tank valve is fully open, try lighting the burner farthest away from the tank first and turn
it to High. Did the burner light and the flame height looks normal? If so, light the remaining
burner(s) the same way. Do all the flame heights look normal? If so, you solved the problem.

Remember to always turn the tank valve ON Very, Very Slowly.

Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Pleas let me know and Happy Grilling, Newby!!

My7 Baby q doesnt get hot enought to sear steaks

Their are several things that can cause this problem:

1. The burner(s) need to be removed and thoroughly cleaned.
2, Low amount of gas in the tank.
3. The grill's gas regulator is partially seized.

The first two are easy for you to solve, The third one is to if you do the following:

Turn the gas tank valve OFF. If you're using a 20lb LP Gas grill tank, disconnect the hose from the tank and wait 5 minutes, If you're using a small 1 lb cylinder, turn it OFF and remove it from the grill. after 5 minutes, reconnect the hose to the tank or reinsert the small cylinder and turn the tank valve ON VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow). Once the valve is fully open light the burner(s) and turn it to the highest setting. Did the burner light and does the flame height look correct? If so, you solved the problem. Just remember to always turn the tank valve ON very, very slowly.

If the above didn't solve the problem, you will need to replace the grill's hose/regulator assembly (if you're using a 20Lb LP Grill Tank). Which you can find at any home center or hardware store that sells gas grills and accessories. If you're using the smaller insert-able tank, you will need to replace the tank's hookup and regulator mechanism.

Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Happy Grilling!!

How do i replace the fuel line on the rancher #55. is there any connection in the gas tank or just at the carburator?

The fuel hose is just pulled into the tank ( interference fit ) take a new hose, cut one end into a point, push this into the top of the tank as far as you can, now grab the end through the the fuel filler holr and pull the hose on through, pull enought through to allow the filter to move in the tak.

Gas line seems to have air trapped inside. How does one clear it?

First disconnect tank. Hook back up and open very slowly. These new valves on tanks have a shut down if you open valve to fast, causing tank valve to think it is leaking, it slows down flow of propane. Always open tank valve slow when turning on grill. If this does not solve problem then regulator is going bad and need to be replaced.

Does'nt get hot enought ...then other times no problem..i've cleaned burner tubes and even changed the regulator...cleaned out all spider &webs...whats up..............jim

try this the gas tank very slowly. inside the tank there is an overfill protection devise OPD which means that when you take it to get refilled, it cannot be overfilled. if you open the tank too quickly, this devise will kick in and restrict the gas flow. hope this helps.
