Maytag Gemini Electric Kitchen Range

I have the above kitchen range, MER 6770AAB Serial #11562846WWM, that appears to have a sensor issue. Three weeks ago, I set it to clean and after 2 hours got an F-1-3 code; called main number and was told a thermostat sensor was bad and to hit the circuit breaker to make the code stop flashing. That worked and ovens were usable so didn't think anymore about it.

Earlier this week, when not in use, another code F-1-3 started flashing; even after hitting breaker, it kept coming back and is still flashing. Neither oven will heat and both are unable to be set. Called main number and was told it was a sensor issue.

I want to try to replace the sensor myself but don't have a manual. Is there one available online? Are those code explanations correct?

Thanks!

Eileen

I had exactly the same problem when cleaning our black MER 6770AAB oven today; it was self cleaning for about 2 hours and stopped. It stating beeping and the F1-3 code popped up. After it cooled off, I reset the breaker a few times, but no results. The top door remained locked, however, I slipped a flat bar thru the side and got the top door open. Re-set the breaker a few times but no results – both ovens are dead.

Let me know what you find out - and I'll do the same........

Codes are correct .The back needs to be removed and your sensor is a 2 wire part ,The easiest way to make sure you change the right one is by turning oven to on and run a voltage test at each end of the thermostat.Rule follows : If oven is on you should have 115 -120 volts present and make sure you have the same at the other end of thermostat ,if you have the volts at one side and not the other than that is the bad thermostat. F1-1

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Error code F1-1 in your Maytag Gemini Indicates runaway cook in upper oven and to resolve this issue you’ll have to check the oven temperature sensor & replace if it has gone bad. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

I have an MER 6772 electric stove. After control panel malfuntions over the past 2 months, we ordered a new control panel. I have installed the panel, but it appears to need programming. When the stove...

odd i just saw this one...
ok i would check to make sure all your connections are tight to the new control board.
then check where the chord connects to the range
make sure all your connections there are tight and secure
then check to ensure you have the proper voiltage at the outlet
120v on bothe sides to ground
220v between l1 and l2

Maytag 6770AAB dual burner will only go hot and temperature will not adjust

you have a bad sensor on that burner,

Heat in lower oven will not exceed 185 degrees

Several possibilities:

1. Bake/broil elements are bad - can you see them glow red?

2. Temperature sensor is out of wack - does the temperature displayed agree with the actual oven temperature? The sensor can be tested by measuring its resistance.

3. If the elements and sensors check out and the oven "thinks" it is hot when it's not, then it is probably your control board. In this case we may be able to help you, we repair these at www.fixyourboard.com.
