Can u uninstall emachines then reinstall so that the colors are right

1) Right-click on an empty area of your desktop screen.

2) Left-click on Properties at the bottom of the list.

3) Left-click on the Settings tab.

4) In the middle on the right side; What does it state for Color quality?
It should state - Highest (32 bit)
If not left-click on the blue down arrow to the right of this box.
(Color quality box)

Left-click on Highest (32 bit)
Now go below to the right, and click on Apply.
Then go to the bottom left, and click on OK.

Still no change?
Go to your monitor, and monitor settings. See if the colors are set right.

Still no?
If the monitor is a flat LCD screen, see if there is another KNOWN to be good monitor cable, (From another computer?), to use for a test.

If you are using an older CRT monitor, it may be at the end of it's 'Life Cycle'.
(Looks like a small TV)

I have a "dinosaur" type E-Machines monitor,I've

That sounds like a picture tubeproblem and because to the cost of these old monitors it is cheaper just to buy a new flat screen than to try and repair that old one.

The monitor screen goes dark, then comes back with everything enlarged and the colors wroong. Then, it goes dark again and comes back looking normal. What's wrong and what can I do? PLEASE HELP!! ...

could be with the monitor or video card/controller. first thing is to test another monitor if available and use a working video cable. if same thing happens, test if it is stable in safe mode. Restart the computer and press F8, then select Safe Mode. If display is stable in safe mode, it would be a video controller. Uninstall the existing driver, then download the latest one for your system through Dell support site.

The auto-darken feature(monitor goes dark on dark

In your monitor panel you'll find 4 buttons. Press the menu button and get into Magic Bright. There you can choose the one that best suits you. You can even set to Dynamic contract where the monitor adjusts the brightness according to the elements on the screen

Samsung SyncMaster 931BF 19" Monitor. Screen was working fine. But now after raising the resolution past 1280X1024, the screen wouldn't display anything. I tried it on my older monitor, a CRT. It...

This is because your screen is not compatible with any resoultion past 1280 x 1024. Look at your screen's specifications here: http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/200602/20060210090838125_BN59-00521A-01Eng.pdf (Page 76 listed as Maximum resolution)

If you want to go past that, you must purchase and/or use a different monitor. Just be sure to look at the Maximum Resolutions BEFORE you purchase a new monitor!

I have just connected my Dell Pc with a new Nvdia 8600 graphics card that can go up to 2056 X1280 in resolution. But my LG M228WA seem not to go over 1680 x 1280 preset resolution. It can go up to 1950 x...

As fars as the specs go the monitor has a Max resolution of 1680×1050. That would look like the bottle neck. Either you'll have to just make do with the max of the monitor or you'll have to get a new monitor that supports the size you want. Hope this helps. M~
