SOURCE: Technics SL-J1 turntable drive belt

Hello Cliff,
You will need 2 belts, if the turntable belt is gone the other is not far behind . One for the turntable size 23.6 inch by .188 and one for the tracking motor that is in the top cover part, is a 3.0 inch by .046 belt. best place to get them is at kenselectronics.com part numbers 1407-201 and AV-SBS3.0 if you have been checking around you will see other sizes, I have a SL-J1 and have used these and they work perfectly.

SOURCE: Sony Belt Drive Turntable Platen speed

Check for grease on the platter or anywhere in the mechanism. Sometimes somebody has messed around with the speed preset, there might be two. You could try adjusting them. Sometimes they are found on the underside of the turntable, covered up, or they will be on the PC board of the deck.

SOURCE: model PS-LX300USB Turntable Drive Belt

Hi Norman

Normally the belt does not go through any special tensioners or anything of that nature,The belt should go directly from the spindle motor onto the inside of the platter. Hook the belt on the motor section and lay the belt open wide inside the turntable. Next, replace the platter and manouvre the belt onto the platterinside through the two large holes

My awa turntable with cassette, cd player and recorder (e 6906) has a problem. At the end of the tone arm, the part that holds the stylus is on an angle of about 10 to 20 degrees. The stylus is not...

This model uses a ceramic cartridge. Sometimes the stylus holding part can become damaged. It should be possible to get a new cartridge and stylus for the unit. It looks as it will either screw or just clip into the headshell. Either way look around for a replacement cartridge. If it has a number on the cartridge quote that. Remember it's a ceramic type - not magnetic.

Need to replace the belt on my JVC AL-A95 turntable

To replacea turntable drive belt.Copyright.. Styluscity.com, JohnHarrison. Nov 2011Before starting any work on yourturntable disconnect it from the mains power supply.Remove the stylus or completeheadshell to prevent any accidental stylus damage.1. Remove the rubber platter mat toexpose the platter.
2. Put your thumb and forefinger through the two round holes either side of thecentre spindle and lift the platter off. You may need to give the centrespindle a light tap (whilst applying upward pressure) with a screwdriver handleor some similar tool that will not leave any marks or damage.
3. Remove the old belt and wipe the platter and motor pulleys with an alcoholswab to remove any old belt residue.
4. Place the new belt around the platter pulley making sure it is sitting flatwithout any twists.
5. Flip platter over the right way up. Acorrect fitting belt will stay put and an over belt will fall off.
6. You will see 1 or 2 largerectangle or square shaped cut outs in the platter near to the outer edge. Throughone pinch up the belt and slip a finger or belt hook between the platter pulleyand the belt gripping the belt ready to fit over the motor pulley.
7. Align the centre hole of the platter with the spindle and place platter backinto position keeping a grip on the belt.
8. Slip belt over motor pulley and give the platter a light clockwise rotationto ensure the belt is riding correctly.
9. Replace the rubber mat and then run the turntable to ensure correctoperation.

I require a drive belt for a NEC P325E turntable. What size and type do I require, and where can I purchase one.

Hi, I will be able to supply aa new drive belt for your turntable. To determine the length remove platter and on the underside is the platter pulley where the belt runs. If you tell me the diameter of the pulley I can work it out from there. Cheers John. Styluscity@gmail.com
