That chip is called the Central Processing Unit (CPU). It is the brains of the computer. That is where everything you do on the computer is processed. If any of the pins are bent you have a problem.
Also, look for any bad capacitors. They are round cylinders kind of like a miniature water tower or oil tank. If any of them have a rounded top then you have a bad motherboard.
Make sure you did not unplug any of the wires.
