That chip is called the Central Processing Unit (CPU). It is the brains of the computer. That is where everything you do on the computer is processed. If any of the pins are bent you have a problem.

Also, look for any bad capacitors. They are round cylinders kind of like a miniature water tower or oil tank. If any of them have a rounded top then you have a bad motherboard.

Make sure you did not unplug any of the wires.

Does not beep

Beep is indicated related to ram. If there is ram problem it gives a long beep. If it is working properly there is one single beep. Now you say that there is not beep, so it has to be related to motherboard and power supply. If you can open the machine remove the ram and power on it if you hear a long beep there is ram problem. If it does not beep and there is power in machine try to change the cmos battery. then too it doesnt work there is problem with your motherboard

My all in one Toshiba LX835-D3360 PC turns on,

The Toshiba screen comes from inside the video screen hardware itself. The PC, no signal message also comes from the video screen hardware. It means that the PC video card is not providing any signal to the video display. The PC part of your all in one has some problem, but the video display is working just fine. Check your manual for any indicators that you can look for to make sure the PC portion of your setup is powering up. Pay particular attention to any sets of beeps you might hear as the PC is supposed to be powering up. If you hear anything other than one short beep, that is a signal that there is a hardware problem with the PC portion of your system. Check for sounds of the PC hard disk and/or CD-ROM drive spinning up during startup. Call manufacturer support for your all in one once you have obtained some basic information.

Pc turning off

Be more specific. Turning off when? What happens when you try to turn it on? When you have the power cord plugged in do you see any lights? When you press the power button do you hear the fan running, hear the hard drive running, see anything on the lcd screen, hear the cd drive Click once, see the light on the cd drive drawer turn on for a second or two when it clicks, hear any beeps or blinking lights?

My ps3 froze and now doesnt show anything on the screen and controller doesnt turn it on. nothing happens

try rebuilding the database and the file system in recovery consol

to get to the recovery consol press and hold the power button when ps3 is in standby mode(red light) till you hear a double beep. sometimes the ps3 does a beep then another beep and goes back into standby thsi is fine just release the power and quikly press and hold it again till you get double beep.

like on my 80g system it goes like this

ps3 standby...press hold power.......beep .........beep........stanby again....release and hold power again.......beep .........double beep...release power now you should be in recovery menu.

Getting power but wont boot up or anything

pull out everything in the computer except what's required to boot...so any pci cards or video cards (if you have onboard video). you can also try pulling out the ram (while unpowered AND unplugged) and then booting to hear beeps...if you pull the ram out and the computer doesnt make a sound, its probably a bad motherboard and needs to be replaced. if you hear beeps, try replacing the ram or disconnecting other parts...like harddrives, optical drives, modems and what not.

My computure wont start

Your computer is not getting past it's self-test. If all you get is the logo and you can't start it in safe mode, most likely you have a hardware problem. Does your system have a little speaker that makes one beep when you start it? If so, are you hearing the beep?
If not, like I said above, it is failing it's hardware self-test.
In cases like this, I open the case and disconnect all the drives and start it to see if that is the problem. If you see stuff other than the e-machine logo, that means you probably have a bad CD. If you do have one of those speakers, also take out the memory and you should get a bunch of beeps when you start it. If not, you are most likely looking at a bad motherboard.
One other thing you can do before pulling your hair out is take out the little battery for a minute or two and put it back in. This should reset your CMOS, although in your machine, there may be a jumper you need to change (near the battery) to clear it.

I get a loud beep on my laptop but cant hear anything else

There is a beep system in all PC's
One quick been means the computer is OK when starting.
one long continuous beep is defined as :
' Power Supply or System Board / Keyboard stuck '

Note: Alternately it could be a Memory module
However it's more likely that it's the above

If you check those two things, you are likely to find the culprit.
If not, you need to post your BIOS and
