The green plug needs to be plugged in into either a green jack at the back of your computer or into your laptops earphone jack. And if the second cord is a USB cord then plug it into a USB port. If it is a power cord then plug it into a wall socket.

I don't understand how to plug in my pink and green plugs and allow it to hear as well as wpeak.

Check carefuly to plug your green plug in the green slot out of three possible and the pink one in the pink one,

then right click on your speaker icon in the down right corner of the screen and choose playback devices to find the device you are using by checking every device on the list by right clicking, "set as default" and testing if this is the device that gives sound

then right click on your speaker icon and go to recording devices. Use any program with microphone to do the same check by right clicking and setting "set as default".

How do I plug my BA745 Boston speakers into a MAC desktop with one headphone outlet in the back?

I have the same speakers. It should have two plugs, one green and one pink. the pink plug is for a microphone. On the side of the speaker with the control knobs, you will find a headphone jack and a microphone jack. Unless you plan to plug a microphone into the pink microphone jack on the side of the speaker, you don't need to plug in the pink plug that goes to the PC. This is basically a microphone extension cord that runs through the speaker cord. That's all the pink plug is for. The green plug, on the other hand, is for your audio out. take the green plug and plug it into your computer's head phone outlet and you're good to go. You can use the speakers with any device that has a headphone jack. Just make sure you use the green plug, not the pink plug.

No sound it says no device installed

This may sound silly, but I do not mean it to be silly as an answer.

I have found, over the years, especially with Compaq and HP computers, that when you plug the speaker plugs into the back of the computer, green into green, and pink into pink, there is no sound. But if you reverse them, such that you now have green into pink, and pink into green, you will have sound.

It does not happen every ime, but more times than I thought possible.

Otherwise, take the plugs from the rear of the computer and, if you have outlet jacks on the front of the computer, plug them in there, and see if you can get sound that way.

The saying goes, "It might not help, but it couldn't hurt!"

Good luck!

What is the green plug at the back of the monitor that connects to the green plug between the pink and blue port at the back of the tower panel on a Compaq Presario is it the sound?

the pink is for a microphone and the blue is for a "line in" (much like a microphone). the Green plug is for your speakers. your monitor would only have this plug if it has built on speakers.
